Precision 5820 NVMe SSD not working
dell workstations can be picky with nvme detection. what helped me was using a sabrent nvme usb adapter to plug the drive externally first, install windows on it from another pc, then move it back. also worth trying a samsung 970 evo if you have budget - some controllers work better with precision b

upgrading nvme on a inspiron 3020
ngl i've done this exact upgrade on a 3020. the motherboard supports any m.2 nvme size as long as it's pcie gen 3 or 4. i dropped a 2TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus in mine and it recognized it immediately. the WD Black SN770 is another solid pick that runs cool. just make sure your bios is updated first. d
