I just received this last night Build quality definitely looks sturdy, design wise yes it might cause a divisive opinion Several things that stand out is how quiet it is, I had Baratza Sette 270 and the noise difference is night and day

I have a baratza sette 270. I wouldn't exactly recommend it - it is very noisy and the macro and micro settings have drifted since day one.

Be patient, making great espresso is not easy. You need a combination of good beans, grinder, water, machine and technique. It's fun if you like the hobby though! Get the best grinder you can afford. I like the Sette 270 if you want it to go fast. Baratza also has great customer service. Noisy grind

I assume it’s an Encore ESP you have, in which case yes, it’ll do you fine as you dial-in. If it’s the base Encore, then not so much — it lacks the resolution to adjust grind size appropriately for espresso. budget: $200-400 German/italian/western make Oof, this will be tricky. Low end Eurekas can f

Had the Sette 270 for 2,5 years. It's as louad as a jet engine and your neighours will despise you. Get a bit of aluminum butyl insulation material to clad the plastic parts from the inside to dampen things a bit. Also, get a set of shims from Baratza, because the grind dial tends to loosen over tim

In cup, Niche Zero is pretty similar, but as others have noted, out of budget, especially with the tariff nonsense rendering them especially unworthy. Baratza Sette 270 is noisy, plasticky, and janky. But excellent support from Baratza and the Etzinger burr gets you better texture and flavor (more c

The Sette 270 is great, but incredibly loud as well. Not sure if that's a problem to you? As an alternative, you could consider the newly released Baratza Encore ESP Pro. As our coffee friends from across the pond had a crazy $199 Amazon sale on the ESP Pro these past days, I wouldn't be surprised t

I’d totally change the grinder if I had to do that. I’m happy with my very old baratza sette 270. IMO its only downside is that it’s loud.

Did you buy it? I've just been through this decision process at the same price point Almost pulled the trigger on a DF64 since that is a relatively hot 'new' thing, but in the end I just didn't want Chinese tech. I am buying Coffee gear to last decades and I just don't trust them to help service/mai
