I want to point out the M5 macbook pro has only TB4, while the M4Pro/Max macbooks have TB5. This might affect you if you're planning to run 5k/6k@120hz displays which would require TB5. The rumoured studio display, if it does have 120hz, might require this (or a hacky 2x plug into the tb4 ports). Th

I know some folks are all about the refresh rate, but I pretty much bought the studio display so I could eliminate my desktop speakers and my OWC thunderbolt hub. I don't game, so the refresh rate is ok, and the overall image quality is beyond my expectations.

Yeah, I’ve also been very confused about this. Though admittedly very few monitors are glass. The only one I’ve actually seen that is glass is my dad’s studio display because it’s an Apple product and Apple loves glass. I assume part of it is just the reason why most modern eyeglasses aren’t actuall

Here's my list. Assume typical annual improvements to battery life and performance across the board. MacBooks: Face ID integrated into the displays. Cellular chips (C1, C1X successors) and eSIMs integrated into MacBooks. Their own wireless chips (N1 successors) integrated into MacBooks. Those may bo

nobody likes to publish this, unfortunately. it is very hard to find out if displays are actually native bit depths. a professional display should be 10bit and for the price, studio display is it (it needs it for HD). i think in your case it is 10bit+dithering for 12bit, switch that off. do not get

The real question is Why doesn’t Apple make a ‘budget’ screen for all these people buying the mini. Theres no way everyone’s buying a £1.5k studio display so they’re leaving money on the table somewhere

A ruse to distinguish their displays, like the current Studio Display has an A13 processor and 64GB of storage for cropping a webcam feed lmao.

Yeah I don’t get it. A Mac Studio should have plenty of room for multiple m.2 drives but yet we have to have external drives or enclosures sitting on the desk next to the Mac. I love Apple but they are ridiculous with this. I want a Mac Pro specifically for the ability to add storage or whatever int

Something I’m interested in from Apple, considering how old the Studio Display is.

Aren’t they insanely expensive? Compared to what? I paid more for my iPhone that I will only keep for 3 years than i did for my Studio Display that I will have for 10+ years. I’ve never understood the attraction compared to just another far cheaper monitor. Same as buying the higher quality, more ex
