Most of my friends crap on me for buying an Apple Studio Display, but I have to say, it really did away with the nightmare of having to utilize a docking station, desktop speakers, and a million cables. Is it too late to return the mini?

Can you tell these are Apple Thunderbolt displays?
Exactly. I have two purchased in 2011, still work beautifully 15 years later, just a tad dimmer. One of them is paired as a secondary with a 2022 Studio Display.

A bunch of companies have now released or are releasing superior 5k monitors, some with dual mode 5k/2k displays, mini led backlit, a lot with 180hz refresh rate, Asus has their super accurate/calibrate pro art 5k monitor now and they're all around or under $1000. If/when apple released Apple Studio Display with a possible 120HZ refresh rate - your current Mac won't still support it
I know some folks are all about the refresh rate, but I pretty much bought the studio display so I could eliminate my desktop speakers and my OWC thunderbolt hub. I don't game, so the refresh rate is ok, and the overall image quality is beyond my expectations.

Apple Studio Display XDR Review: We're All Pros Now!
For $3000+ they might as well throw it in there. The Studio display in general is super overengineered if you watched the teardown, just like the $999 Pro Stand hinge mechanism. I guess that's what Apple does on their high end products when they aren't held back by a specific price point
