Video description "Did Synology Just Quietly Downgrade Your NAS? I received an email from a concerned Synology user who noticed something strange — official Synology PDFs have been silently updated to lower feature limits across multiple NAS models, including the DS923+ and DS224+. We're talking abo

If you have a working model that doesn't have the drive restriction, I don't get replacing it. I still love the DS923+ Synology sent me. Hell, I'll probably buy the expansion unit at some point. I reached out to Ugreen and I should be getting their DXP4800 Plus NAS for review. It'll be interesting t

Immich really doesn’t require much. I’m using a Synology DS923+. The only downside was my initial import of 1TB of photos took quite awhile to complete all the jobs and tasks for optimizing my library, face recognition, thumbnails, etc. Alter the initial import is done it requires almost nothing on

I dont know why they want to screw home users over like this, this is nothing more than greed. I think they're really screwing themselves with this change. I know my DS923+ will be my last Synology NAS unless a major change happens. I dont see the value anymore, the DS925+ cant even have 10GbE , lik

While there are some pros, the cons kill it for me. The value proposition they once had over competitors is pretty much gone. 👎🏻No 10GbE Upgrade Option: Removes the PCIe slot from the DS923+, eliminating any path to scale beyond 2.5GbE.👎🏻Comparatively underwhelming hardware compared to similarly price

The Ryzen V1500B platform doesn't have hardware transcoding, and if you don't care about that, there's plenty to like. It handles 4K high bitrate content without breaking a sweat, and I didn't run into any issues whatsoever — it proved to be just as reliable as the DS923+. Exactly. The above sentenc

IMHO If you don’t mind be held hostage by Synology to use their over-priced relabeled harddrives, and you don’t mind paying dearly for seriously outdated hardware and underwhelming hardware features, you could go for DS925+. If you feel you deserve some freedom of choice, and are still okay paying d

I suspect you find it a bit underpowered CPU and memory wise (even Synology top spec devices are underpowered these days), but I found this useful when I first started using my DS923+ for containers. I have since moved to a mini-PC and just use the NAS for storage now. Dr_Frankenstein’s Synology Doc

I ended up buying a UGREEN because of recent changes at Synology. You can install custom OS's and it's got hardware transcoding support for Plex with a much stronger Intel CPU. I was just about to pull the trigger on the DS923+, then I found out the 925+ is coming soon, then I found out about all th
