I currently have 16 gigs of RAM on my UG NAS DXP4800+ but half of it is being used … should I drop 700 USD on 96 Gigs of ram? No.

I’d avoid Synology, they’ve been causing quite the controversy lately. UGreen has some nice pre built NAS in 2/4/6/8 bay models that let you install any OS you want, including TrueNAS. They have a 4 bay model and another 4 bay with 10Gbe. DXP4800 and DXP4800 Plus. Base model is Intel n100 CPU with 3

You can get a proper NAS for your money, an all in one package if you like. Look for UGREEN NASync DXP4800 Plus or simmilar.

I never used UGOS. I’m sure it’s fine but TrueNAS has been extremely good on my DXP4800+.

UGREEN allows you to install your own OS and does not lock you in their ecosystem. In 2035 I will be still running debian stable / proxmox on DXP4800 Plus. Synology is offering a backhanded "we are forcing you to buy new hardware a bit later, how lucky you are". Not to mention their latest addition

Terramaster is offering 25% off and it’s not even Black Friday yet. Surely you can do better Ugreen! I want to see 25% off the DXP4800 Plus and you have (at least) one extra customer

Very good chance I just try and get my $30 refunded. I have 2 DXP4800 Plus units now, so this, while a nice upgrade, isn't really a necessity for me. And if they are moving the goalpost and no longer have guarenteed pricing for the pre-order, I think it's time to wash my hand of the situation.

I’ve got this, and got my gf the DXP2800. The DXP4800 Plus is solid. It looks great, performs well. I originally got it with the plan to run Unraid but the UGREEN software has been fine for what I’m doing, so stuck with it. Even the UGREEN mobile app is good.

If you have a working model that doesn't have the drive restriction, I don't get replacing it. I still love the DS923+ Synology sent me. Hell, I'll probably buy the expansion unit at some point. I reached out to Ugreen and I should be getting their DXP4800 Plus NAS for review. It'll be interesting t

I tried the UGOS on my new Ugreen DXP4800+ for a few days, and quickly went back to DSM with Arc Loader. My thinking is that if Synology does break Xpenology completely, then my existing version will keep working just fine, likely with security updates for at least a year which is loads of time to f
