New to home server. Running Plex on my NAS feels awesome :)
I also got an F4-425 Plus about a month ago, though I mainly use it with Jellyfin. It's a bit different from Plex, but runs smoothly.

Whats best for someone setting up their first NAS doing it DIY or buying a prebuilt NAS?
Obviously the DIY is cheaper compared to buying something Unless you already have hardware this might not be true. I was in your same position and ultimately decided to buy a TerraMaster F4-425 Plus. I'm really glad I went this way. The 425 Plus is really well made, quiet, and just works.

4-bay NAS for home storage: TerraMaster F4-425 Plus vs UGREEN DXP4800 Plus?
Based on your needs, I’d say the TerraMaster F4-425 Plus is a decent option. The 2.5GbE network port makes transferring large photo and video libraries noticeably faster than standard 1GbE. Its CPU and RAM run Plex, Docker, and other services more smoothly than entry-level models. Setup is simple, w

Trying to decide between: Synology DS923+, QNAP TS-464, & TerraMaster F4-425 Plus
Above all else your problem is “this will be my single source for all my life” Look up the 3-2-1 backup strategy first. And soon. I switched from a very old synology to the f4-425 plus and installed truenas. I think you should just go with the synology it will do what you need - storing your life fi

Is TerraMaster NAS a good choice?
I have and like the f4-425 plus. I think it’s great value. I’ve installed TrueNAS on mine since day 1. Synology absolutely has the most refined OS for user experience. TOS7 is in beta and surely coming out “soon”? Depends what you actually want out of your NAS. The terramaster is actually powerful e

Thinking about switching my storage from cloud to NAS
For photography where file sizes add up quickly, I’d recommend going with at least a 4-bay setup. I’m using the TerraMaster F4-425 Plus in my team, it supports four HDDs and three M.2 SSDs. I have the three M.2 drives set up in RAID 5, which gives pretty efficient storage utilization. With my curren

F6-424 as on offsite back up. Has TOS reputation improved?
The 424 series is a really good model. I have the F4-424 Max with a beta version of TOS 7 and I can tell you it's a very good pairing / system for the money. No need for TruSCALE or UnRAID. TOS 6 and or 7 will cover all the bases you mention in your post. As you mentioned, a six bay with Intel CPU,

Need help deciding on which NAS to buy as a newbie.
Personally did a bit of research into this myself as I have a similar interest, with the addition of running Immich and the arr* stack. Also want to use TrueNAS scale so my journey stuck to intel based systems. Landed on: - Terramaster F4-425 Plus or- Beelink ME Pro 2-Bay In the end I am leaning mor

Is there a better NAS for beginners than the DXP2800?
New NAS user. I’m running Plex off of a TerraMaster F4-425 Plus. Very easy to use.

Is TOS 7 a thing already?
Been using 7 for a week on f2-423 and f4-425 plus, both seem to be fine.
