The girl math behind the jet purchase
The other half of it is people behind mad that he's increasingly out of touch with consumers I'm not mad, but I'm concerned. I need a new NAS because mine is 10 years old. Their NAS build was huge, had $2000 in HDDs, an SSD, and a $200 OS. My Synology NAS, complete with OS, is like $500. I want a ra

PSA: The UNAS 2's "2.5GbE" NIC is a USB-attached Realtek running a 3-year-old driver, and mine just stopped negotiating gigabit
You genuinely might want to avoid Synology as well, UGreen would be my recommendation. Synology reversed their ban of third party HDD/SSD drives recently (M.2 drives are still banned) except the language they used in the press release implies they're DEFINITELY going to try again in the future. I started with an older PC. Changed to Synology NAS. Thought maybe I could consolidate some things and moved to a Mac mini. Then to a beefy PC. Then eventually back to Synology. It really is the right tool for the right job. 5-bay NAS gives me plenty of room for extra drives, to run RAID and greatly

Need advice...
As a pro, you need to think longer term and better quality. Buy a 8 bay synology nas and 4 20tb drives (Western digital red). When you run out of space you have 4 empty slots and by then the 40tb or 60tb drives will be cheap... Sock to orig Sabrent away as a old backup.

Gluetun + qBittorrent + Arr stack on Synology NAS won't start reliably after reboot
I don't mean to sound rude, but if all I need is storage space, then I don't need a Synology. The Synology does a bit more than just those few things. For me, it was simply the easiest and most cost-effective option atm

Erstes NAS - oder doch was ganz anderes?

DS425+ or DS925+. Do i need hardware transcoding?
I can't imagine why you would buy a synology with 10+ year old processors when you can get any of the new entries in the last couple years and get a dramatically better value. Everything synology sells is obsolete, and they haven't bothered iwth new processors in 7+ years. I have 4 synology NASs, ev

Anyone using Acemagic retro x5 as a living room HTPC?
I use a Synology NAS. It's inexpensive for what it does. Pretty much every other device I have in the house can be used as a client with it.
