At what point do you stop backing up data?
Get a Synology NAS and some cheap storage, and backup via that.

The girl math behind the jet purchase
The other half of it is people behind mad that he's increasingly out of touch with consumers I'm not mad, but I'm concerned. I need a new NAS because mine is 10 years old. Their NAS build was huge, had $2000 in HDDs, an SSD, and a $200 OS. My Synology NAS, complete with OS, is like $500. I want a ra

Linus to Bitwit
I don’t think Linus would give anyone a Synology NAS.

PSA: The UNAS 2's "2.5GbE" NIC is a USB-attached Realtek running a 3-year-old driver, and mine just stopped negotiating gigabit
You genuinely might want to avoid Synology as well, UGreen would be my recommendation. Synology reversed their ban of third party HDD/SSD drives recently (M.2 drives are still banned) except the language they used in the press release implies they're DEFINITELY going to try again in the future. Backing up personal Google Workspace account
A Synology NAS would be enough. The software has a backup package you can install to do that.

Why go with a mini PC with all my containers + NAS for file storage instead of running it all on a NAS since newer NAS can run everything just as well as a mini PC?
Probably depends on your usage but I run everything on a Synology NAS perfectly fine. DSM is amazing and everything just works. Mine has two M.2 slots and expandable RAM. No proprietary parts needed.

Erstes NAS - oder doch was ganz anderes?
