Backing up personal Google Workspace account

A Synology NAS would be enough. The software has a backup package you can install to do that.

Erstes NAS - oder doch was ganz anderes?

New User

I started with an older PC. Changed to Synology NAS. Thought maybe I could consolidate some things and moved to a Mac mini. Then to a beefy PC. Then eventually back to Synology. It really is the right tool for the right job. 5-bay NAS gives me plenty of room for extra drives, to run RAID and greatly

Storage setup

This.. I lost about 30TB of data with 1 disk parity in a 4 bay synology NAS. A second drive died while the array was being rebuilt.

What is your archiving strategy (sermons, "marketing", etc...)?

A Synology NAS with the Google Backup module would work well in your case. If the content already exists on YouTube (like livestreams, sermons, etc), I don’t see a reason to store it elsewhere.

PDF Files in Downloads Deleted

Yep. I've backed up a bunch of Macs over the network with Time Machine to various Synology NASs for years and it's great. It happens automatically whenever the Mac is on the same WiFi network, so you don't even have to think about it. A permanently-connected hard drive would be the same.

Backing up to synology NAS

I just use their Synology Drive app and it works great for me. It's on the AUR.

Ideal backup option for an external drive hosting database files

If I rsync my files/folders to a Synology NAS via CIFS (and BTRFS on Synology), will there be a chance of messed up user rights & permissions? Yes. Have a look at borg instead, bit more of a learning curve but a borg repository will retain all permissions. I do have an rsync script rsyncing home to
