Why is my monitor doing this?
Not all VA panels are equal, though. My recommendation is, always check for reviews (thorough ones that show response time measurements), and don't count out VA panels from the get go. For example I have a Lenovo Y34wz-30. And it does have some smearing on lower refresh rates, but at 165 Hz it's ver

Can modern MiniLED actually replace OLED for dark room gaming?
The local dimming algorithm is arguably more important than the zone count. Most external monitors, except the Apple Studio XDR, have such bad local dimming in SDR that it's better turned off there. And turning it off means it looks exactly like an edge-lit LCD. TVs usually have much better algorith

VA monitor with no black smearing
1080p philips evnia 25m2n3200w https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZYZpU4Tx6Y lenovo legion r25f-30 https://www.youtube.com/shorts/KwVGzdoMsYo those two are the best 1080p VA panels, using them at 240hz will get you minimal ghosting and using them at 120hz will eliminate ghosting 1440p the only option

Rumor claims Samsung Display is preparing 24-inch and 39-inch QD-OLED panels for 2027
27 inch is perfect for me. I have bad eyes though. Running the original Samsung odyssey g7 1440p curved monitor. It’s a VA panel so doesn’t have the asscheeks IPS bleed. Its response time is high enough I don’t have issues playing comp.

Best comparison of IPS and VA that I found
Samsung Odyssey G7 Neo. Works like a charm and has really good contrast. Only issues is very slight ghosting in some games.

I bought this brand new Samsung 32” odyssey G51F QHD. Why does it look like dogshit?
I bought the same monitor off Marketplace for $100. It looked brand new. I brought it home, hooked it up and immediately noticed the VA blur. I had a G7 curved VA that never looked this bad. I know they are two different tier monitors from Samsung but I figured by now they’d be using their better VA

Looking for Top of the line, NON OLED monitor money can buy.
As long as it's centered as viewing angles are horrible, I can vouch for the Neo G7 32".- a 4k MiniLED VA. It's not like the cheap VAs that will black smear. There's also a 240hz Neo G8 but it has scanline issues, because this panel can't handle 240hz properly, and has some horrible greasy ultramatt

Best Monitor for Xbox Series X
There are so many options. And this is a question most individuals only answer once every so many years themselves. So unless someone has bought a monitor recently you’re gonna have to do a bit of research to find what fits your needs. But generally, if I was you I’d look at a 4k 120hz monitor with

Monitor has a ton of motion blur
Yeah first monitor i bought was like this. VA, MSI 32". blacks left a massive trail behind them. Then i got an Odyssey G7 which is still VA in theory but pixel response time is literally perfect. Never had an issue again

Pleasantly surprised by cheap VA monitor
This is the ultimate goal for minled but surprisingly manufactures are too stupid to listen. A miniled VA that doesnt smear is a samsung but they stopped making them. TCL took over but they still dont have the samsung magic. The old Samsung g7 had solved smearing more than 5 years ago but noone else
