I bought a PocketBook InkPad Color 3 a year ago and wanted to love it but it's a frustrating device. It is so insanely slow. Navigating menus to do anything other than turn pages in a book made me mad. Especially frustrating because other manufacturers manage to make their eReaders snappy. I switche

I have the opposite experience. I have a Kobo Libra 2 and a Pocketbook Inkpad Colour 3. I never understood the Koreader hype when I only had the Kobo. Pocketbook for me is unusable with its stock UI. I was actually going to sell it before putting Koreader on it. Bizarrely it’s super sluggish if you

I own a Pocketbook Inkpad Color 3 and I love my device. I had in the past Kindle for many years and my wife has a Kobo, so I know other brands very well. Pocketbook devices have good quality and the software works without problems. The best thing is that with the Pocketbook app you can sync your boo

8" InkPad 4. For manga applies the bigger the better, I use it daily for reading manga. Even bigger devices would get less handy and you would have to look into Android ereaders (of which there are a couple out there). The colour tech unluckily has disadvantages for colour content, for manga (and bo

I prefer using PocketBook InkPad Color 3 more, because there are no distractions and it's a better device for reading.

I have been using PocketBook InkPad Color 3 for more than a year. The device is great, especially if you really need the color screen. Also, I have a newer and lighter Boox Go 7 with BW screen. PocketBook feels more consisted and polished device. Yes, it offers way less features than Boox and slower

I have both a Kobo Libra Colour and a PocketBook Inkpad Color and without Koreader, I feel the PocketBook would almost be unusable. The native UI is so so slow. Thankfully, koreader makes it usable.

My InkPad 4 - which has a smaller battery than the InkPad 3 colour - definitely lasts weeks (but also doesn't need light in daytime, since the screen is brighter). At this point I have the suspicion that some PocketBooks have in some cases a problem with the software regarding how full a battery is

Both are solid choices for escaping Amazon's ecosystem, but here's the key difference: PocketBook runs on Linux and natively supports more formats out of the box (including EPUB, MOBI, PDF, DJVU, and many others) without conversion. Kobo is more restrictive with native formats but has excellent inte

Have you considered PocketBook? They have a few really nice color e-readers you might like. Check out the Era Color, InkPad Color 3, or Verse Pro Color. I use mine for studying all the time. Best to avoid Kindle imo, it is too restrictive.
