My ten years old Kobo got barbecued...

By the average person, probably not repairable. Easiest repair is to get one of these with broken screen and start swapping parts out, but at what point is it no longer your Kobo? Screens have improved quite a bit in the last ten years. I’d say retire it/display on your bookshelf or something and pi

I want to love it I really do.

FYI - I have tried 3 different color ereaders (kobo Clara, kindle colorsoft, and boox) and at this point in the color eink technology, the darker screen is the standard. Just food for thought in case you were thinking it is a kobo specific issue 🫶

I'm pulling the triger tonight, which do you recommend?

Kobo clara bw. It might be more expensive than the kindle basic but it's waterproof and has warm light and the kindle basic doesn't have those. You might also wait a couple of days and see if it will get any discounts.

My Kindle is an ad filled wasteland and I regret buying it.

Kobo is better, likely way better (never had a Kindle), but PocketBook is the way. My Clara currently wants me to click on something like "Find your next great title", sometimes something about audiobooks (which when clicked wants internet access) or "Find books similar to those you currently read".

Testing Kobo Libra Colour vs Kindle Color – Which one should I keep?

I would take anything about brand out of the equation and just ask yourself ‘which am I most likely to pick up and enjoy reading on’ and ‘which is easiest to find/purchase/load books I want to read’ on to. I ended up with a kobo Clara bw as I can just chuck into my handbag and take it anywhere (perf

Kobo Libra Colour compared to Kindle Paperwhite 4 (2018)

You can't compare a BW screen with color screen. Everyone knows that e-ink color screens have worse contrast and detail than BW screens. The Kobo Clara BW has the latest and best BW screen, it's even better than that Kindle.

Which reader would you choose?

I started my Kobo journey with a Clara BW last year and bought a KLC this year. The plan was to use the Clara for travel because of its smaller size and the KLC at home. But I am now considering selling the KLC because I barely use it - the Clara alone fits all my needs. I only read novels so don’t

I was gonna buy the clara bw for 140 on amazon. It went away yesterday and now its back for a big price jump. Crazy

It's $140 USD on the Kobo site. I got mine from them because I don't care for Amazon. It arrived fast and I'm happy I gave my money to a company I like! :) https://us.kobobooks.com/products/kobo-clara-bw

Ditching your Kindle? Kobo is Canadian

Hah just ordered a Kobo Clara Colour yesterday!! Going to save so much $$$ borrowing library books instead of buying kindle books. The prices were getting ridiculous anyway. Like $17-18 for a novel that I can’t even hand to a friend after.
