I’m amazed You went through all that yet somehow didn’t consider panasonic which is undoubtably the best platform for video. Sony lacks open gate, has poor ibis and af is less important for pros. S5iix is what you need. XH2S is also one of the most capable hybrid cameras on the market in the right h

I just switched to the canon r6 mkiii but I use Panasonic s5iix’s at my job. I guess I’m an idiot because I assumed all camera manufacturers have good ibis now but the Canon ibis is fucking dog shit. Almost unusable for video. I really was spoiled by Panasonic.

Regarding IBIS - Panasonic is on a completely different level. Nikon’s stabilization is nowhere near as good as Panasonic’s, not even close. There’s a simple physical reason: Panasonic bodies have a much larger IBIS chamber, which gives the sensor more space to move and correct motion. It’s not just

I understand your frustration. One of the reasons I LOVED my Panasonic AF100 was that they didn't skimp on the professional stuff. It had XLR inputs, it had locking HDMI, it had SDI video output through a BNC connection, it even had RCA jacks (the yellow one was how you output timecode to another de

Having used an s9 and S5iix for over a year and having switched now to a Nikon setup with ZR/Z8/ZF I can only say I am more happy with current gear BUT for your needs, an S9 it’s the best bang for the bucks you can have. Yes, crop on 4k60 it’s a pain in the arse but noting that will make you rip you

I have yet to buy this camera, but from what I can tell, everyone is sleeping on it pretty hard. The narrative is that it’s an S5II with all the new features and upgrades of the S1RII/S1II, like false color, internal RAW, cripples stabilization, and the new body design. However it seems that’s not t

I don't understand what Lumix was thinking with the release of the S9 without a small quality prime for the camera. If they had released S9 with a small quality 28mm or 40mm f/2.8 prime, sales would have went through the roof. The S9 was not a fit without that small prime to hang my hat on. Bloggers

I have a Z9 and the S5iix and a bunch of other cameras and gear. I think of L-mount as Panasonic = great video and YouTube cameras, sigma cameras = weird fun toys with a great image. Leica cameras = stylish fun travel camera. I also love the Nikon cameras. Z9 is a beast but heavy and not really for

I'm so glad you like them! Comparing the A1 and S5IIX is like comparing apples to oranges, honestly. I no longer shoot with the A1 but when I did I used it specifically for aviation photography. The burst speed on the A1 is the best I've used for capturing high speed action. One thing that surprised

I'll tell you why I want to switch, maybe you can understand me then.I want 4K 48-60 FPS recording for video with good AF and IBIS that doesn't overheat and doesn't break the bank. The problem: the S5IIx has a crop, and even when I record in 1080, the good AF is gone (the S9 have it!?). The A7IV ove
