Thoughts on Lumix S5iix for video vs what I currently use (Nikon Z8)

Hey there! Full time business photographer videographer here. Looks like you’re hitting the limit of using a hybrid photo camera for long form video. The Nikon Z8 is an incredible camera, but some would say it isn’t built for hour plus continuous recording, especially in a theater environment. Readi

Is Lumix better for video than photography?

I wouldn't say it's video first. It's just that Lumix actually gave you the video features required to fully utilize the capabilities of the camera. The competition often kneecapped their cameras by treating video as a gimmick. Even on Sony cameras, which were popular for video and had capable hardw

Camera change

My advice would be to keep the S9, and perhaps add another FF Lumix to the mix. You'll be able to use the same lenses, and at same time increase your shooting experience. The S9 is a nice camera for what it's designed for. I have 2 lumix also, and took both of them recently on a trip abroad and glad

Lumix S9 for mountaineering?

The S9 doesn't have any official weatherproofing, so if you anticipate harsh conditions out on the mountain that will defnitely be a consideration. While the build quality on the S9 is good, I wouldn't necessarily call it "rugged" by any stretch. If you're taking the camera out onto the mountain and

Wedding photographer looking to add video (Canon ecosystem?) – R6 Mark II or switching brands

Some thoughts as a full time videographer who has shot weddings in the past: I have the r6 mk3. I do not recommend it as a video-only camera. I bought it to be my hybrid body to complement my c70. If you want a video-focused body within the canon ecosystem, your only decent opinions are R5C, C70, C8

I like how so many people complain about overheating on the s1ii but they forgot almost every sony until recently does this as well

People just hate panasonic for no reason. Thats what I wrote. Plus a personal story how sony fools customers. Yeah the s5iix is a really robust camera.

Flash for outdoor events: where should I start?

Godox and the Panasonic L-mount bodies may not be a great choice, like it is for everybody else: https://www.reddit.com/r/Lumix/comments/1egjpzb/godox_and_s5iix_is_a_bad_pairing/ There's apparently a lag on firing, and issues with TTL accuracy, as well as banding issues with HSS. Godox might work if you'r

Let's be real..L10 and Fujifilm X100 VI.

Actually its freakin amazing, you get paid for doing something that you love, it doesnt matter commercial or not. 90% of us here just spend not make any money with photo or video. Very cool! Is there anything you can share? Also how do you like the S9? I guess for the video work lack of mechanic shu

Lens suggestions for S1ii (after moving from Fujifilm), Video + Photo in Large Scale Live Events

I was a Fuji X user for over 10 years, I moved to the Lumix. I purchased the S5iiX it came with the S 85mm f/1.8. for (Thank you B&H) free I also purchased from eBay the S Pro 16-35mm used like new for $695.00. I really like street photography the most, so I took the S Pro 16-35mm out for a spin wit

I just get confused by the language some people use when trying to downplay the reality of the overheating. Even in our short exhange, you started at "doesn't really overheat" and immediately went to "it obviously overheats quicker than my S5IIX." It's a bit of whiplash, and I don't think downplayin
