The S9 doesn't have any official weatherproofing, so if you anticipate harsh conditions out on the mountain that will defnitely be a consideration. While the build quality on the S9 is good, I wouldn't necessarily call it "rugged" by any stretch. If you're taking the camera out onto the mountain and

People just hate panasonic for no reason. Thats what I wrote. Plus a personal story how sony fools customers. Yeah the s5iix is a really robust camera.

I moved on from Fujifilm last year and primarily use Panasonic Lumix now (S5IIX and S1RII). Quick thoughts off the top of my head: The IBIS is so much better. No weird wide-angle wobbles and no jerky corrections during camera movements. I love the color science. Fujifilm has great colors too and thi

I'm trying to sell my S9 at the moment so I am maybe not the best to ask. It's a great camera, don't get me wrong, but I own the S5IIX and bought another non-X variant because while it's bigger, the ergonomics and build quality are much better. I keep my S5IIX rigged up and plan on taking either my

I was a Fuji X user for over 10 years, I moved to the Lumix. I purchased the S5iiX it came with the S 85mm f/1.8. for (Thank you B&H) free I also purchased from eBay the S Pro 16-35mm used like new for $695.00. I really like street photography the most, so I took the S Pro 16-35mm out for a spin wit

Wow, S tier camera handling skills; very sharp and contrasty photos. As for protection of the camera body: search for “Anti-Scratch Camera Skin Wrap Sticker Coat Vinly Protective Film Body Protector Decals Cover for Panasonic LUMIX S5 Mark II S5II S5IIX S5M2 S5M2X (Circuit Black)” or something like

It's always great to hear another person's experiences. Speaking specifically of native lenses (since I don't dive much into third-party due to color rendering), I think you've highlighted the main issue with Panasonic/Lumix, which is consistency. Their lenses can be excellent, but their quality con

I was on a hiatus of 5+ years. Always owned Panasonic cameras as I just liked the look of the footage, the features, and the form factor. I got an S5iiX and it's been a fantastic camera. I'm not really sure that Canon is something I'd spend money on unless you were strictly a photographer. I don't t

Howdy!! I'm like you, blessed with good deals on used panasonic gear (S1/S5iix and S9) !!! If you are not rushed in time, I would say wait to have a good deal on the panasonic prime lenses. I got their 50 and 85mm on the cheap, so I paid a third party price for a native lens (especially if I compare

I love the images straight out of camera, and it’s operationally speedier than the next generation of cameras, especially the slow ass S5IIX. I love that it’s smaller than them too and personally can feel it. Way better battery life than the S1II generation, I’ve also never seen an overheat warning
