Osprey 26+6/IKEA Rensare appreciation post
Picture is an Osprey 26+6 (old style) with the IKEA Rensare packing cube set to show how well they fit together when not overpacked.

For one bag sub everyone seems to have many, if you could only own one bag, which would it be?
Owning multiple bags is not the same as carrying multiple bags. Osprey 26+6 is the ideal bag in my opinion.

Osprey 26+6 Personal Sizer Pics
A big factor for the tight squeeze with Air Canada is because all Canadian airlines (Air Canada, WestJet, Porter, and Flair) generally only allow 6 inches of depth for personal item, compared to the 8-9 inches allowed by US airlines. It's a massive difference. A fully packed (unexpanded) Osprey 26+6

Did a 9 day Europe trip on Osprey Daylite 26+6
To alleviate any concerns from potential purchasers of the Osprey Daylite 26+6 that this is a one-off, I used this pack for a winter trip to Spain and also had no issues with it on four RyanAir flights. While its 43H x 33W x 16D cm specs are slightly larger than Ryanair's revised 40H x 30W x 20D cm

The 26+6 Problem: Too Much Bag for Too Little Weight
Congrats on slimming down your packing list! I do summer travel in 16-20L and save the 26+6 for cool weather trips too. I got the Osprey day lite tote pack in the same colour as my 26+6. I like it despite not having the clamshell opening. I found a packing cube that fits perfectly and it works good.

Help! Need Bag Recommendations (26L-35L)
I mean, what about the Osprey 26+6? It’s a personal item when collapsed but can be expanded to 32L for a proper overhead carry on. 28+ might be too big for under seat travel, but great for overhead travel, though I’ll let others speak to that. I know I am squeezing sometimes with the 26

Does the bag I’m looking for even exist?
I have the Osprey 26+6, 5’2” senior. I added a hip belt and it works good on this pack. I’ve walked 5+ miles with it including a computer in it. I had a cobbler sew 1” (or maybe it was 1.5”) webbing loops and then bought a detachable hip belt. Webbing from Amazon and hip belt from Black Ember DEX hi

My first one-bag trip completed
A big thank you to the collective knowledge of this sub that had me grabbing an Osprey Daylite 26+6 as my bag. Just returned from 5 nights in Vegas and almost everything went smoothly. Air Canada gate agent at Vegas was crusty AF about the personal item sizer but passed the test. The big takeaway is

Does this bag even exist??
I believe the Osprey 26+6 checks all of these except stowaway straps, duffel strap, and U-zip mesh cover (honestly I am not sure what you mean by that). I researched all the alternatives when I was deciding what to buy (ultimately did get the 26+6) and I am not aware of anything that checks ALL of t

Bag Size Comparison: 28L vs 16L
Great breakdown, thank you! As someone who is 5’3” I have the Allpa 35 and it’s the biggest bag I can reasonably carry but can certainly get heavy when fully loaded. For longer trips or things where I need a ton of totally separate clothes I usually end up with the Osprey 26+6 for my personal item a
