Travel pillow. Not a neck pillow, but a smaller regular foam pillow. Takes up about 1/3 of my Osprey 26+6 and totally worth it.

I mean, what about the Osprey 26+6? It’s a personal item when collapsed but can be expanded to 32L for a proper overhead carry on. 28+ might be too big for under seat travel, but great for overhead travel, though I’ll let others speak to that. I know I am squeezing sometimes with the 26

I believe the Osprey 26+6 checks all of these except stowaway straps, duffel strap, and U-zip mesh cover (honestly I am not sure what you mean by that). I have one of these and the Osprey 26+6. The thule is nice but I don't love how rigid it feels. The Osprey can definitely hold a lot more and is easier to use. The Aion is nice and rugged though and my wife doesn't seem to mind it much as her bag.

The Osprey 26+6 is one of the best combinations of flexibility (26 or 32L), durability, and price. Excellent choice for beginning to explore one bag territory especially for short trips. Works best as a personal item bag but I’d argue it’s an essential bag for the one bag arsenal.

A big thank you to the collective knowledge of this sub that had me grabbing an Osprey Daylite 26+6 as my bag. Just returned from 5 nights in Vegas and almost everything went smoothly. Air Canada gate agent at Vegas was crusty AF about the personal item sizer but passed the test. The big takeaway is
