Osprey transporter 26+6 under United seat
For context, wanted to share my experience with the osprey transporter 26+6 for other potential one bag users. Very impressed with the space and its possibility as a personal item.

Did a 9 day Europe trip on Osprey Daylite 26+6
To alleviate any concerns from potential purchasers of the Osprey Daylite 26+6 that this is a one-off, I used this pack for a winter trip to Spain and also had no issues with it on four RyanAir flights. While its 43H x 33W x 16D cm specs are slightly larger than Ryanair's revised 40H x 30W x 20D cm

Underseat Roller Bags vs. Backpacks?
I personally own both the two-wheeled Travelpro rollaboard and the Osprey 26+6. Both are excellent choices for frequent travelers. However, as a person who uses a cane and needs to stay upright, it’s physically easier to pull my Travelpro than to haul my fully-loaded (but unexpanded) Osprey 26+6 on

Hot take: I did not like Daylite 26+6
Huh. I just returned from a 4 day trip where I brought my Osprey Daylite 26+6. I’m a 72 year old woman who is small though I don’t think my shoulders are particularly narrow. I find the Osprey to be comfortable enough and love using it on short trips. The chest strap worked fine to carry the 10 poun

Deciding on new onebag
The only way that the osprey is comfortable to take on a 10 mile walk would be if you modded it to take a hip belt. I love it for urban stuff and it fits in almost every sizer as a personal item but it’s not designed for walking. Im eu based so havent got direct experience with ULA stuff but that lo

Narrowed down to 2 bags - help me choose!
The Patagonia bag is 20” long according to the big OneBag spreadsheet mentioned by the auto moderator. Most airlines limit underseat bags to a 18”, so technically the Patagonia is too long for underseat. Some Jansport models are too long as well, although most are < 18” and will work. Most American

Airline carry-on onebag rant
I’m another two-bagger. I just can’t carry a giant pack on my back. I use a cane and can manage an Osprey 26+6 if it’s not super stuffed. But I usually take a 21 inch two-wheeledTravelpro and a Foldie tote. Sometimes I’ll swap the Foldie for the Osprey. It’s just easier with two smaller bags rather

Does this bag even exist??
There’s a reason why diligent bag researchers so frequently choose the Osprey 26+6. It’s really an awesome lightweight bag, especially if you travel with an ipad, or mini ipad and don’t need a computer. The computer sleeve is also convenient for travel documents or thin magazines like The New Yorker

Tom Bihn vs. Osprey
I own both Ospreys but the Osprey as Daylite 26+6. The fairpoint/ Fairview is a great backpack for real backpacking imo. I did 3 months Southeast Asia with it and loved it. Super sturdy and comfy. Nothing rly breaks this beast even when overpacked. Love the hop strap to lighten the load on my should
