This subreddit changed my life + What I learned

The “bag review” nerds love sh*tting on Osprey when they can. I watched a review on the Daylite 26+6 today and they said to “try these substitutes.” They were 2-3.5x the price! I actually needed a smaller bag than my Farpoint 40 and went with the Daylite 26+6 in black. There’s probably a great $250

Anyone travel with a carry on?

10 years on the road with my wife, living out of two Osprey Farpoint 40L carry-ons. One each. This year, after a decade of wear and tear, we replaced them, with the exact same backpacks. That probably says everything. Traveling this way teaches you a simple rule: if something new comes in, something

Your bag is perfect except for "that one thing" - what is it?

I bought an Osprey Farpoint 55 instead of a Farpoint 40 specifically because the 55 doesn't have a laptop compartment.

Carry on, check it or buy another

You’ll likely be fine on Delta, but watch your weight once you start flying other carriers because some international and low budget airlines actually weigh people’s carryon suitcases and if it’s overweight you will be checking it. *hasn’t happened to me bc I exclusively use an Osprey Farpoint 40 as

(need advice) Osprey Farpoint 40 vs Kestrel 38

The Farpoint is a travel pack. It is absolutely the wrong type of backpack for the Camino. I strongly advise against using it. Go with the Kestrel or explore other backpacks made for camping while walking distances ie backpacking backpacks. Look at the Osprey Exos 38 or something else by Osprey or G

How do you handle lots of weight on an achy back with a backpack?

This is all about overhead sized bags. Load transfer and under seat bags aren’t happening. Reduce the weight as much as possible! Get a pack with a load transferring harness that comes in various torso lengths or adjustable torso length for a proper fit. That will put 80% of the weight on your hips.

What’s the one bag you didn’t regret buying after real travel?

Osprey Farpoint 40, EXCEPT THE LAPTOP POCKET DOESN'T GO ALL THE WAY THROUGH.

Osprey Farpoint 40L VS Salkan 35L

I have the Osprey 40L Farpoint and I love it. I don't like to check a bag ever so I use it to travel and to hike. It's been my main bag for multiple long hut treks in Nepal, Peru, Iceland, Patagonia and for Kilimanjaro. It's a solid bag. Sometimes I pair it with an Osprey 15L bag if I need some more

Onebaggers of Reddit: what's the toughest part of traveling with just one bag?

Wait, are you traveling with a carryon or just a tiny personal item bag?Doing laundry every night or even worrying about nearest laundromat when traveling random countries sounds super stressful. My 1 bag carry-on fits 1 week's worth of clothing easily. Checkout the Osprey Farpoint 40 it's max carry
