PC illiterate - Help on finding a mini

The problem with the Beelink SER5 MAX 7735HS beyond the rebadged 6800H processor is the cost cutting lack of USB4 and the fact it's never been listed on the official website. I've also read that these 24GB LPDDR5 memory Beelink minis have problems like this. https://www.reddit.com/r/MiniPCs/s/rECBW7

Work and play recommendations

With the current RAMpocalypse pre-built mini PCs often make a better investment and AMD Radeon RDNA integrated graphics provided better gaming. If there's a problem with shipping or PC function Amazon Prime with 30-day Free returns makes the can remove "Murphy" from the purchasing equation. From tha

Is this overkill for Jellyfin Server / NAS / Media box?

Well, it depends on budget and expectations. I know someone who recently wanted a Jellyfin server with a minimum of 32GB, expandable storage and Intel NIC. They ended up with the GMKtec M7 Ultra PRO 6850H. Has dual Intel i226V 2.5GbE NICs and better ventilation and cooling then some others they look

Mini PC recommendation for office productivity and light gaming

AceTragic isn't known for build quality or customer service while the Geekom A5 Pro 7430U (2021 5425U rebadge) has weaker Radeon GCN 5 Vega integrated graphics by 2026 standards. https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/compare/5051vs4685/Radeon-Ryzen-5-7430U-vs-Radeon-Ryzen-7-PRO-6850H With a 10% brand p

Looking to switch to a mini PC

Yeah the Core i7-7700HQ didn't age very well but was a product of its time. As a footnote the AW15R3 like your Dell Alienware 15 R3 can suffer performance issues from poor maintenance. About 4 years ago I replaced the factory thermal paste, clean out the filth and upgrade it to a 2Rx8 32GB kit. Gave

Help me choose a mini PC

Close friend bought the GMKtec M7 Ultra PRO 6850H to run Mint as a daily driver due to its value and features. A couple was Intel i226V NIC, dual fan cooling, dual 2280 M.2 SSD and 8K60Hz video out. Also found servicing the mini to be extremely easy! Amazon Prime USA has had a brand promotion droppi

Mini PC for High Temperature Environment?

From some personal experience it's less about heat and more about humidity. If it's a dry heat, you're wanting a mini PC with the best ventilation and the most fans the assist in cooling. Upgrading to quality thermal grease is also a priority before placing it into service. https://youtu.be/OqiCHxwU

help with picking a mini pc

Here's a base comparison. The Geekom 16GB A6 6800H generally ships in single channel mode (one 16GB stick) which can limit processing and graphics performance by up to 40% under heavy loads. There is no 2280 Gen4x4 NVMe SSD expansion slot only a 2242 M.2 SATA. Some state online that the 3-year warra

Peladn Mini PC

Not dual channel memory as advertised; struggles with thermals If you have plans for an eGPU, spend more on something with 32GB dual channel memory (2x16GB) and x4 4.0 PCIe OCuLink. Single channel memory can reduce processing and graphics performance by 40%. USB4 graphics card docks add expense and

Upgrading from a 2011 OptiPlex 990 – Best ~$500 Mini PC for 24/7 Plex & Heavy Browsing?

BTW, was DM'n with someone a few weeks back and they went with the 32GB GMKtec M7 Ultra. It's a newer platform with a generation older 8-core processor. Slightly bigger case, more ventilation and bigger fans. It's the same platform as my platform as my K8 Plus. They returned their M6 because they fe
