People who got mini pc-is it worth it?

A normal PC will beat out a mini pc and mini pc uses laptop cpus mainly. If your looking for something small that's when it stands out. I've got a beelink ser5 5 5560u and use it as my general computer. It can emulate up to ps3 and Xbox 360 and eats only 40 watts

Beelink - what am I missing here?

I think Beelink is considered one of the better brands. My SER5 has been chugging along in daily use for the past couple of years with no issues. Only note is that the standard rec here is to buy through Amazon for their return policies - that is what I did when I bought mine a couple years ago.

Can my pi5 8gig version run ps2 games smoothly?

The Pi4 overclocked to the max and using a cooler plus cooling case could run pretty much all PS2 games at least at 720p. Not sure how that translates to the 5 since I don’t know if the emulator has been optimized for it. You’d be much better off with a mini Ryzen PC. I have a Beelink SER5 and can r

Which would you choose between these two?

I have the K8 Plus. The 6800H is a completely different processor from 2022. The 8845HS is newer with more powerful 780M integrated graphics from 2024. The Beelink SER5 MAX has soldered memory and no USB4. The K8 Plus has OCuLink and other features. The K8 Plus is more powerful and more future proof

Which is the better buy for 24/7 home server?

Definitely do not go for Aoostar or lesser quality brands. If your main worry is 24/7 reliability, I’d stop thinking in terms of “which one box is perfect?” and start thinking in terms of nodes in a cluster. The Beelink SER5 Max gives you a stronger iGPU and more RAM out of the box (6800H + 32 GB DD

Stronger alternative to Raspberry Pi?

I got a Beelink Mini PC SER5 Pro running SteamOS in one of my cabs and I absolutely love it.

There are way too many options available, even searching this sub its hard to figure out which I should get for budget PS2 Emulation.

Any mini with RDNA2 Radeon RX 680M integrated graphics + 32GB of memory is a solid starting point for BatoceraOS classic console emulation and/or a BazziteOS Steam Deck console. The recently released/oddly named Beelink SER5 MAX (SER6-LP) 6800U has been popular locally for such projects.

Do your research. A cautionary tale.

In the affordable Chinese NUC world brands tend to rise and fall from model to model. A world selling on hype but founded on cost cutting. A few years back Acemagic and Minisforum was premier with the Beelink SER5 5800H being the standard. This far into 2026 Beelink and GMKtec are premier, Minisforu

Beelink SER5 Max, false advertisement on 6800U/H TDP and performance

Didn't realized you post it here too, since here is my main sub. Copypasta from my reply on Beelink sub -> Yeah, this appears to be something smartshift related misconfiguration in BIOS. The [SMU] logic that controls the power allocation to both CPU and GPU, not allowing CPU+GPU to access full syste
