I doubt it's that big of a jump. After 4 years with my trusty Eureka Mignon Silenzio (plus single dosing kit) I upgraded to a DF83V. Specifically, I didn't want to move from a 50mm flat burr to a 64mm flat burr because I didn't think the jump would be big enough. Also I thought that the 64mm was soo

Yea. I noticed I’ve been doing this as well. I took off the anti-clumping thingy on my eureka mignon silenzio awhile ago, because of the retention it created behind it…but I’m pretty sure the extra RDT’ing I need to do to avoid grinds flying everywhere is too much. I think I am creating much worse r

Re Grinder: decide first if you want to Single Dose or use a Hopper instead. This choice divides grinders into two categories. People like hopper style because it's the easiest, with the least amount of fuss. People like Single Dosers because it allows them to keep their (expensive) beans away from

I have a Eureka Mignon Silenzio 55 and it works absolutely fine out of the box. Grinds really evenly and fine enough to choke my Bezzera Luce with every beans I bought so far. You know the zero on the grind dial is not the actual zero point, right? You can go past zero. Also I'm nowhere near the max

I only have heard about the gen 2 where they added a knocker to the chute, and I think they took away the magnetically removable chute in order to do this. Dunno what the 3rd gen diffs are. Personally, I don't want a knocker, as I can simply grab the chute and clean it and put it back. I like that.

I'll answer the short question first: the grinder. I loved my Eureka Mignon Silenzio, but it was a hopper style grinder. I learned quickly that what I like is fresh beans. A hopper would not do. So I got a Single Doser kit off of Etsy for it. That was great, but... The workflow wasn't the best. I st

Have you considered a Turin DF83V ? It's a significant change from the DF83. I had a Eureka Mignon Silenzio which I found very competent, but then I had nothing to compare it to except the builtin grinder of a Breville. It's early days yet for my new grinder but I'm finding that it produces less fin

The only concern I've read about the DF64V is some are reporting that you have to use RDT. Dunno how that strikes you. It sounds like the gen 2 chute improvement is a big win. I read good things about Timemore. My bias is to only buy 64mm or 83mm because I can always try out different burrs later. D
