I’m starting to realize I don’t enjoy straight espressos

Espresso as an extraction process is superior to every other option (including moka pot, which I have three of, French press, which I have 2 of, and pour over/clever which I have one of each). Cold brew is my other favorite way to enjoy coffee. I make a lot of americanos, cortados, flat whites, capp

I need help deciding between these two grinders [$800]

I bought my DF83V last September and love it. I've heard from two others that bought VS6s and they both said they're pleased with their grinder. I bought the silver one. I like its looks but the dial lines are kind of hard to see under the bright kitchen lights. The black is recommended. It took a f

Does the grinder truly make a difference. Thinking of upgrading DF64 gen 2 to Zerno Z2

I doubt it's that big of a jump. After 4 years with my trusty Eureka Mignon Silenzio (plus single dosing kit) I upgraded to a DF83V. Specifically, I didn't want to move from a 50mm flat burr to a 64mm flat burr because I didn't think the jump would be big enough. Also I thought that the 64mm was soo

Looking to buy a used La Pavoni Europiccola tomorrow (Post-2007 Millennium?) – Need advice and photo confirmation! [€250]

this is not a premil machine, it's from the late 90's. the grouphead shape is a dead giveaway, but the power switch on the side is another. you should be able to look at the baseplate and see the year if i'm not mistaken. i have the exact same one with the same wood accents. for 250 euros, that's a

Tired of overpriced, inconsistent cafe lattes. Is the Profitec GO + Timemore 064s a good setup for [$1,500]?

I have a profitec go and a Eureka mignon silenzio 55. The Eureka cured my need to weigh each shot and is convenient and consistent. Originally I mostly made milk drinks, but the espresso is so good straight that I acquired a taste for it and cut out a bunch of empty calories. That being said, the pr

Good espresso machine that you say it's really worth buying?

For my two cents, Gaggia Classic Pro $500 and eureka mignon/silenzio will get you good stuff and you can continue to mod the Gaggia and make it even better over time

Is the DF83v still worth buying in 2026 (in Germany)? And does anyone actually understand the different versions?

"Good buy" ? You mean "good performance at a good price" ? Yes. No. IMO the differences are minor. I don't have a knocker, but then, I don't want or need one. Nothing works better for clearing fines than bellows. Occasionally I remove the magnetically held chute and use the included brush to wipe th

Homemade wdt tool

I had read all the buzz about this WDT thing and so I bought one online. It was really nice but had quite large wires. My pours went from "ok" to garbage. I (boldly?) posted a diatribe of how crappy this WDT thing was and got raked over the coals. Hmmm... apparently I was "holding it wrong" or somet
