UTMB advices not to use salt tabs

Anecdotal, for sure, but I have ran, crewed and volunteered in some of the hottest, humid conditions on the planet and the idea that we don't need electrolyte supplementation seems a bit absurd to me. I think people overdo it, of course, and people think it's a cure all for insufficient fueling, hea

Best hangover cure??

I’ve spent the last decade researching this and trying to find an answer. The short answer is there is absolutely nothing you can do. Nothing. We refer to drinking alcohol as intoxication for a reason. It’s toxic. You are poisoning yourself. It’s typically just a mild poisoning but the byproducts of

How do you manage hot weather/enviroment or summer ?

Definitely electrolytes! I've found that when I keep my daughter pumped full of them, she stays much more stable in hear. She's PAI though, so doesn't produce aldosterone. I have heard of some SAI folks really benefitting from them too though. Def worth a try. Drip drop are my favorites for my kiddo

For me (and I have different chronic illnesses) my problem with falling asleep lik mandatory you going down now! was my BP… if I drank electrolytes boom it went back up to reasonable. The best electrolytes I’ve found is drip drop. Poor it into a bottle of water sitting or l

Best electrolyte source/ ileostomy hydration tips

I drink Gatorade zeros. They have zero sugar and zero calories. My doctors say that there is no problem drinking these and I mix Phos-Nak packets and/ or drip drop packets (both on Amazon) to the Gatorade Zero and it helps with my electrolytes and hydration. Unfortunately, with an ileostomy most thi

UPDATE FROM MR D IN CA

Happy New Year to you and Mr D! I've been on Mounjaro for over 2 years now. (Similar to Wegovy but not the same) I have fatty liver, and my Dad passed from MASH cirrhosis, so I take that seriously. Down 100 pounds! Almost back to a 'normal' BMI range. This stuff is seriously magic in a vial. There's

Dysautonomia-related Hypovolemia (low blood volume): signs I missed for years

This is good advice. Allow me to add on to it. I tried different electrolyte powders in water. What I found that works best for me is LMNT because it has the highest sodium content 1000mg per packet. There are many other brands out there. I've tried Drip Drop and Liquid IV. Drip Drop doesn't offer e

Oral Rehydration Solutions

It’s a completely different population so it may not be very helpful depending on what your needs are, but in my sports nutrition rotation, we were trialing different ORS for the athletes at one point. We used DripDrop, LMNT, and Fluid Tactical ORS and the FT was the one I liked the best. It had a b

If I see another electrolight brand marketing towards POTS and has less than 200mg of sodium a serving i'm gonna loose it

Personally I like drip drop. I think it tastes really good, and has 330mg of sodium which isn't the most but is on the higher side for electrolyte drinks. Plus I can drink multiple a day or add an extra stick to my water or add a pinch or two of sea salt to it. It's really the only one with flavors

Day 4 stims

1000% start miralax and electrolytes if you haven't already! That made the biggest difference with my discomfort and fatigue hands down. Aim for electrolytes that are higher in potassium rather than just sodium - DripDrop was great. Smaller meals more frequently were also way better than a few large
