TIL Even though Pedialyte is marketed towards children, over a third of sales come from adults with hangovers.

My brother & wife who live in Phoenix and hike a lot use nuun tablets in their water bottles for the extra hydration work. Seems easier to deal with that than carrying pedialyte around - but both would work

Liquid IV

I live in Florida and run long distance so sodium supplements are a must for me but I cannot stand the taste of liquid IV and cannot imagine replacing perfect, delicious water with it. I begrudgingly use Nuun because I haven’t found a hydration supplement that doesn’t taste like the jizz of a sweet

Why do I bloat after a run?

After any hard workout (tempo run, long run) I am puffy - the best indicator to me is how my rings fit after my workout is finished. Hydration has been a huge factor, and I started incorporating LMNT in my water for tempo runs, because losing sodium makes me bloat (so counterintuitive). So maybe exp

What’s the best thing for your recovery and injury prevention ?

Beyond what you note - hydration. I get more dehydrated than I think so I make sure to drink quite a lot of water/Nuun post run (really the whole rest of the day).

First Backpacking Trip! Plus Sized Edition

Sounds like a great backpacking trip. Always start with what you can do and you can do more next time. I graze along the trail (with snacks I bring, not on grasess) and hydrate frequently. Something like liquid IV or Nuun hydration tablets are good for adding electrolytes to your water.

Steve Kerr says that Kristaps Porzingis doesn't actually suffer from POTS

Up sodium intake and hydration, work to strengthen cardiovascular capabilities within the limits of chronic fatigue symptoms (don’t do too much at once or it will set you back). The best thing that has helped loved ones in my life who have POTS is to drink a World Health Organization oral rehydratio

Tips for beating the dry climate

Wear loose-long sleeve shirts if outdoors, light colors for pants, get some field pants .. lighter material than denim jeans. And if you look online, some fabric is designed for hot conditions. Bamboo is good in the heat. Get a wide- brimmed hat. I work outside for my career and have for 20+ years.

I feel naked without it!

Nuun has literally saved my life and now I take it with me everywhere. I have reactive hypoglycemia and massively underprepared myself for a month long trip to India, where I found my diet to be lacking protein, and I’m SO glad I had Nuun tablets as a backup to give me hydration without spiking my b

Any runners on lithium? I start lithium tomorrow. But have a big mountain race in 9 days and am worried about side effects.

I'm on limictal and lithium. I run pretty regularly. Both road and trail. Also a lot hiking, backpacking, mountain stuff. Honestly, my performance has improved since being on meds. I think part of it was the depression was slowing me down before. As for the dehydration. It's always harder to rehydra
