Apple increases trade-in values for iPhone, iPad, more
The trade in value of a Mac mini is just weird. I have a Mac mini M4 pro which is worth less to trade in than my iPhone 16E.

MacBook Neo is 499$ (US) for students and K-12
the m4 mac mini was $399 for a few months at microcenter, you had to buy it in-store but probably the best deal in computing ever

Apple Neo
500 with education discount is wild. 8 GB RAM is not ideal but K-12, college students, and pretty much everyone else with non specialized work should at least consider this as their first device. The fact that I can get this and the M4 Mac Mini for around the price of the new Air is amazing. Can’t r

Entry level PCs costing less than $500 ‘will disappear by 2028’, research firm predicts
No they won't. The price floor will increase but the demand for cheap or good enough specs isn't going to wane, especially with modern cloud and internet heavy usage patterns. The vast majority of people spend significantly less than $1000 on laptops and few buy mid range to high end at full price.

Apple's $599 MacBook Neo Shocks PC Industry Leaders
People act like Apple never had budget devices until now, but it’s not really the case. The Mac mini was released in 2005 and has regularly gotten refreshed ever since(it’s current M4, 16GB memory base version is $599), various generations of iPhone models had budget versions (6c, etc.), they made t

is the macbook neo worth it?
If you already own a monitor & keyboard, get a Mac Mini with a M4 chip. New it’s about the same price If you want a laptop, get a refirbed Air M4 from Apple for about $300 more. To me the Neo under the hood seems more like an iPad than a Mac YMMV.

Here’s what I’ll say to those posting $400–500 Windows laptops with 16/512GB and shouting that it’s a better deal…
Yup. For anyone looking for a laptop at this price point, Windows should never be a consideration. The Neo will be perfect for students and casual users who just want to browse webpages and take video calls while having something compact, sturdy and colorful to use. Also, no fans, right? Meaning it

it unites all of us
I was holding on to my gaming pc for so long but Windows has become utter trash now and because I only really play Cyberpunk2077, Minecraft, Nier, etc I’ll be just as happy with an M4 Mac Mini. Microsoft forcing AI into everything has just ruined the experience along side Windows being spyware now.

Parents iMac M1 broke down - what would you do?
Take it to a very reputable repair store that specializes in microsoldering. I guess the quote of 850€ is from apple for a swap cause its imposible it costs that for a soldering repair. I dont know what exactly happens to the board as you didnt specify but im very sure if it doesnt boot its just a v
