Gifted an incredible machine but can’t afford a top tier grinder to match…what’s good enough? [$250]
If you don't mind turning the crank yourself, you can get incredible value from a manual grinder. I have a 1zpresso J-Ultra, and I'm so happy with it. Easy to clean, grinds 18g coffee in about 30 seconds, 8 micron adjustment means I can dial in any coffee to its sweet spot. Plus it is very quiet fir

I can't use the machine; I don't know what else to improve
This machine, like most espresso machines, is very dependent on having a precise grind size. There is a very slim chance that you are going to get to that grind size using pre ground coffee. You really should get your own grinder for espresso. I started with a nice, inexpensive hand grinder from 1Zp

Grinder paralysis preventing use of Robot
Manual espresso machine? Manual grinder. 1ZPresso J Ultra isn’t eye wateringly expensive, and the combination makes great espresso. At least for my tastes.

I need help
Coffee grinders for espresso range from $100USD to $4000USD. Cheapest one's will be hand grinders and given your working on a De'Longhi Dedica EC685 -- You are in the budget range of espresso. Look into hand grinders, it'll take 30+ seconds & a bit of an arm workout but you'll get a good cup of espr

First espresso machine… Does anyone have experience? [$600]
Hand grinders are the play, if you don’t mind the extra work. 1Zpresso J-Ultra rocks so hard for $199. Honestly, they produce results that compete with $400 electric grinders.

small grinder?
The J-Ultra from 1zpresso is excellent for espresso and falls right in the middle of your budget. I’ve had it and used with my Robot and have been very happy with it. If you want to go electric, Option-O has their Lagom Mini 2 that’s not much bigger than a hand grinder and is powered by usb-c. I hav

Electric Coffee Grinder
By coffee machine I assume you mean you're making espresso? The Varia Vs3 is great and (relatively) affordable at $699, that said, I'm aware not everyone has the same definition of affordable nor does everyone want to invest the same $$ in coffee as I. If you're really looking for affordable and a g

Coffee lover wanting to start hone brewing
If you feel like investing in an espresso machine is too steep cost-wise, try opting for an Aeropress to make strong, espresso-like drinks. That way, you don't need to spend on an electric grinder just yet; an entry-level manual Timemore, 1zpresso, or Kingrinder should suffice. This setup should als

Advice for straight ristretto/espresso drinker: first step into home coffee setup post-Bialetti Venus (with cheap Bosch blade grinder)? [€400]
The Rok is a cheaper manual espresso maker. A blade grinder will not give you consistent or tasty espresso. The 1zpresso J and K series ( hand grinders) can do espresso and are <150Eur.

The Weekend Brew - What are you making this weekend? (May 2026)
Turkish grind is the finest of all coffee types (literally powder), so it really puts grinders to the test. Honestly, manual grinders give you the best bang for your buck for Turkish coffee. Check out the 1Zpresso J-Ultra or a classic Sözen hand mill. If you really want an electric grinder, you'll n
