K-Ultra, too difficult to grind
Big spectrum indeed. (I know you know all this, but I liked to add from here for OP.) I have two grinders, 1Zpresso J-Ultra and Mazzer Omega X Soft Burrs. You can’t go dead slow on a hand grinder anyways, you need muscle through it and try to keep a reasonable rpm. In my J-Ultra some dark roast are

I started with this profile https://metprofiles.link/profile/26dadae8-b387-4fa0-8596-6af4ad64b0d1 This profile is super friendly because the only variables are grind size and grams in. It was my first machine too and honestly I was just hoping that after a week or two my espresso might measure up ag

Gifted an incredible machine but can’t afford a top tier grinder to match…what’s good enough? [$250]
Don’t go for the hand grinder if you don’t like coffee, otherwise, you’ll be fine. I have an encore espresso and a 1zpresso j uktra, I love them both but unless I’m just making coffee for the sake of waking up, I’ll always find grinding by hand worth it. My only difficulty is that I have to calibrat

Best alternative to niche zero [budget :400€]
What would be the best alternative to the Niche Zero, considering it isn’t available in my country (France)? Niche Zero is available world-wide. The only way to purchase it is direct from the manufacturer's website. They will ship to France. However, it will be above your budget. If you are willing

Flair Neo plus which grinder?
You can get an mhw R3 or 1zpresso J series But hand grinding for espresso is painful, best to go electric and get a Hibrew g5 or Baratza encore esp You can use the flair to brew something called soup, that is great for light roasts

K-Ultra, too difficult to grind
had the same feeling when I first using the same grinder. Had timemore C3 and 1zpresso was way harder. but, it does grind much faster, so you work harder but for much less time (in my case, approx 20-30s compared to 1min plus) and after using it daily for a few month you get used to it. shift hand h

New and need advice on grinder
The first grinder I got was a manual 1zpresso J or K series, I can’t quite recall anymore - my argument was spend the money on the burr and save money on the motor instead? It worked pretty well, but as soon as you’re making an espresso with a light roast for more than 2 people it gets to be a prett

Grinder Stuck and Useless after 1.5 years [DF54]
A good manual grinder would be the alternative most likely. We have one now until we get our new automatic. We have the 1zpresso J series. I was actually surprised by how nice the manual grinders are. Definitely more work though. Most likely we will get the niche zero as our DF54 replacement it’s ju

Espresso machine for Japanese market
Exactly my setup, but moved to an electric grinder now - grinding light roasts with the 1ZPresso was killing me 😅 Oh and I have the regular NanoFoamer instead of the pro. Have you tried the regular one, how did it compare for you if so?

Dark roast specific grinder [$500]
Here's a thought for a separate grinder without breaking the bank: an 1Zpresso J-Ultra hand-grinder? US$200 or less if on a rarer sale; and does a nice job on my medium dark-roast beans, with a 14g double-shot dose taking me ~50 seconds of no-great-effort cranking (less time if I focus on it). https
