First espresso machine… Does anyone have experience? [$600]

Hand grinders are the play, if you don’t mind the extra work. 1Zpresso J-Ultra rocks so hard for $199. Honestly, they produce results that compete with $400 electric grinders.

Is using a hand-grinder too tiresome?

Absolutely not unless you’re pulling multiple consecutive shots. I have a 1zpresso J-Ultra, which I understand is one of the best hand grinders. Grinding takes some elbow grease, but less than a minute. The resulting espresso with good beans and proper tamping has a thick layer of crema with no chan

Gifted an incredible machine but can’t afford a top tier grinder to match…what’s good enough? [$250]

If you ever wanted a portable manual grinder, the 1Zpresso J ultra is better than "good enough". I use mine 3 times a day for the last year and am so impressed. I don't even use my high end electric grinder anymore. It's never a bad idea to have a manual hand grinder as backup anyway.

Coffee lover wanting to start hone brewing

If you feel like investing in an espresso machine is too steep cost-wise, try opting for an Aeropress to make strong, espresso-like drinks. That way, you don't need to spend on an electric grinder just yet; an entry-level manual Timemore, 1zpresso, or Kingrinder should suffice. This setup should als

The Weekend Brew - What are you making this weekend? (May 2026)

Turkish grind is the finest of all coffee types (literally powder), so it really puts grinders to the test. Honestly, manual grinders give you the best bang for your buck for Turkish coffee. Check out the 1Zpresso J-Ultra or a classic Sözen hand mill. If you really want an electric grinder, you'll n

Don’t go for the hand grinder if you don’t like coffee, otherwise, you’ll be fine. I have an encore espresso and a 1zpresso j uktra, I love them both but unless I’m just making coffee for the sake of waking up, I’ll always find grinding by hand worth it. My only difficulty is that I have to calibrat

Femobook A4 w/ Robot

I believe the A4 is similar to the J series 1zpresso, that is why it is advertised as being for espresso. The A5 seems to be more like the K Ultra. From what I’ve found. I’ve only had a couple shots so far, but I got more clarity from the A4. More separation of flavors. The K Ultra produced a good s

[MOD] The Daily Question Thread

Sounds like you might enjoy a new hand grinder. There are a few quality companies, like 1Zpresso, Timeore, and Kingrinder. Since you don't have to worry about espresso (much finer grind than pour over), you can get a really good and consistent grinder for under $80.

New to Coffee, only want to make shots nothing else [100-200 USD]

https://flairespresso.com/products/espresso-makers/flair-classic/ I have the pro 3 which is over your budget but highly recommended. Remember you're going to need a grinder. A manual grinder will run about the same cost. https://1zpresso.coffee/product/jultra/ That being said it will out produce any

Wacaco picopresso, suggestion for best hand grinder

I have a c3esp and 1zpresso j-ultra, and I can say that the j-ultra produces noticeably smoother results. It's supposed to be one of the best espresso grinders out there, unless things changed from a few years ago. I do prefer the threaded grounds container though (and j-ultra is magnetic).
