Why do people say Yamaha HS5 (or the entire HS series) is uncomfortable to listen to?
Yes. But the HS5 does have a boost around 1khz. Which compared to a speaker (or headphone) which has a more neutral mid-range response could make them seem a bit shouty. And they're a little bit too flat. People tend to perceive speakers (even studio monitors) that have a little bit of tilt in the f

Are these a decent pairing for around $440?
With the Yamaha HS5 existing, I wouldn't go that expensive with Edifier.

focusrite speakers
Yamaha HS5’s are within budget and a nice sounding set of monitors. If he wants to later on, he could also add the matching Yamaha sub to them for more bass. I use their bigger brothers l, the HS8. Whilst neither the HS8 or HS5 is truly a ‘reference’ speaker (a speaker with a very flat response curv

How to improve my WFH setup?
Setup is already clean, that Herman Miller doing the heavy lifting For the vertical monitor — 27" at 1080p works great for docs and Slack. Mount both on arms to free up desk space, your setup is begging for it. A monitor light bar is a game changer for night sessions — BenQ ScreenBar is the go-to, n

New To Synth Minilogue XD
It all depends on your budget! I mostly recommended these because they are only $119 for a pair. Monitor speakers can go up to the 5 figure mark for one each. Of course, those are only useful if you also have a fully acoustically optimized room. Yamaha has the HS5 and HS8. These also have a subwoofe
