well, this is clearly microsoft trying to deny responsibility. My setup that has proven rock solid reliable over the past year: Wd_black sn850x 8tb, OWC 1M2 enclosure I paid $530 for the 8TB sn850 and $99 for the 1M2, but again this was almost a year ago

Across a WD SN850 4TB, SN750 1TB, HP NVME of uncertain make in my Omnibook Ultra, Samsung 990 Pro 4TB, 990 Pro 2TB and an SN9100 Pro 8TB (only had this one for a few weeks) I've so far had no problems anecdotally. In what way are the sn850 not high quality? It was the Samsung that had a lot of failure problems a couple years ago which have been resolved. They are both excellent drives for most things the SN850x that OP has usually outperforms the Samsung.

WD SN850 4TB here. My PC froze to death once, when I tried install app from local file, but after reset all was ok. Installed Cyberpunk and Dead Space from steam without problem. Uninstalled KB5063878.
