It's been great. There was one issue with a firmware and I was notified by ubiquiti. I already patched the issue so no biggie. Once you get into the ubiquiti/unifi ecosystem it's really easy to get the best equipment and never need to change anything for 10 years. I have my router bridged from a Com

Get a new router like the UniFi Express 7 / UX7 or Dream Router 7 / UDR7. Neither will require separate APs and will be be a drop in solution. You'll have far greater granular control over your network and can set up a separate IoT VLAN with strict firewall rules that will work with both 2.4 & 5 GHz

^ This. For an apartment your size, the UniFi Express 7 would probably give you what you need. Currently about $199 USD. It has built in WiFi7, a 10Gb port, and a 2.5Gb port - either of which can be used for WAN/LAN connectivity. Naturally, they support VLANs, to help segregate your network, though

Kig på en UniFi Express 7 eller nogle af de andre de har. VPN hjem med Teleport er super nemt, god administration af dit netværk og mange funktioner til mindre end konkurrenterne.

I have a ubiquiti express 7 which works well. The menus are easy, which is half the reason I bought it. I have always been curious about openWRT and never made the leap or googled it. Just seen it mentioned here and there. As I'm windows becomes a mess, I've been looking to repurpose and old laptop

Maybe sorta? Unless I'm totally off-base, the UniFi Express 7 seems kind of in the same league as AmpliFi was - self-contained, more configuration options than the (non-premium) routers from the usual consumer brands. If my HD kicks the bucket, I'll probably head that way. Kind of a shame the Expres

I don’t bother separating them, but I don’t use the gateway WiFi, I use a Ubiquiti Express 7, no issues, it’s designed to handle it.

Yes, very good recommendation. But for a 2 storey house, I would rather go with the Dream Router 7, which is 400$ on the Ubiquiti canadian website, it's much more complete and more powerfull. The Express 7 can be used stand alone but is often used as wifi companion for their Cloud gateway routers th

There's a little bit to unpack here...... You are not technically using a "wifi provider". You are using an Internet Service Provider (ISP) that is providing you with a device that has Wifi capabilities (ie. router, wireless gateway, access point, etc..) Where I work, we've had a handful of customer
