Are Ubiquiti APs Worth It?

I find the Ubiquiti APs that I have experience with (U6 Pro, U6 Mesh, and U7 In Wall) to be vastly superior to the Fios provided APs in terms of stability and consistency of high throughput. Vastly.

PSA Mesh is fine for a lot of people

It’s not that UniFi is a bad mesh system. It’s that if you’re already resorting to mesh instead of wired backhaul, IMO there are better solutions that are easier to use and cost less. Eero is widely known as basically a completely bulletproof mesh system. High throughput, excellent range, incredibly

PSA Mesh is fine for a lot of people

I've also set up UI for myself and multiple other users I think you're falling into the same trap a lot of us do here, and it's understandable. YOU set those up for other people, so the baseline for those is actually YOUR technical knowledge, not theirs. We have a lot of technical knowledge on here,

Invested in UniFi APs to solve my WiFi headaches, but they persist - need help!

If the U6 Mesh is wired in, then I have seen behavior where phones suddenly drop off wifi or the wifi says "no internet" on the phone when an Ethernet cable to the AP is bad and causing intermittent behavior. It could also be misconfigured settings for your wifi network. If a cable is flaky, the wir

Wifi man

If you can get Ethernet to other parts of your home I have had great luck with U6 long range and a U6 Mesh Pro for the outside coverage. If you have a floor plan you can ask on the Ubiquiti subreddit for planning help. They do have a mesh mode but the speeds are around 200mbps for me. I need to run

Considering an Outdoor AP

kinda been there with outdoor ap shopping. u6 mesh is solid for 1gb - don't need u7 outdoor unless you want wifi 7 tomorrow. u6 mesh covers my whole backyard fine. pro is better if you need more range but used mesh is hard to beat at that price point. your ucg fiber will handle either easily.

How to test performance of Unifi AP?

i feel you - bought a used u6 mesh once that acted the same. first run a wifi scan from the unifi controller to see if channel interference is the real issue. then factory reset it three times in a row (seriously, clears weird nvram leftovers). check the transmit power - sometimes used units get set

Best WiFi Mesh UK

We have a Deco BE63 system that is fine, but Decos are so hit and miss. I see many people saying that they have great experiences, some say that it's terrible. My dad has issues specifically with his work laptop, as do some of our ring security cameras, everything else is fine. So even on the same s

Advice on first Unifi setup in 100 yr old house

plaster and lathe is brutal for wifi - those walls kill 5ghz fast. the u6 pro is fine but you might want the u6 long range instead since it has better penetration through dense materials. also consider mixing in a couple u6 mesh units for hallways. three to four aps sounds right but spread them out

Best Mesh Gear? Sick of Asus setup

Consider that your closed cupboard are part of the issue - wifi doesn't go through things well. But... You don't need mesh if you can use ethernet. So yeah, Ubiquiti UniFi. Since you have ethernet available for wiring the APs, this is the way to go. I'd suggest a UniFI Dream Router 7 and whatever AP
