Wifi. To make the wife happy
I'm not OP. But I tried this recently at my 2 floor house. Two different teams, both exceptionally experienced in installing ethernet in homes and businesses, came to give an estimate. Both said it was going to require ripping up the entire house, basically. They were looking at some 20 holes minimu

Xfinity router
XB7’s and XB8’s kinda suck in range. They also heavily limit what you can do. I have my XB8 in bridge mode and connected my Deco BE63 system to its port 4. Since it has 3x 1gb ports and only 1x 2.5 port

Is mesh the way to go?
TPLink Deco BE63s are super easy to setup. I used the M5s for 5 years and just graded to the BE63s yesterday. I now get fantastic speeds from one end of my house to the other.

New purchase basic router
Like most of us. I felt the same about app based control. Initially, I thought it looked childish. But now I'm a convert and have used tplink decos for about 5 or 6 years. Currently have 2 be63s that cover our 2900sqft 2 story home completely. including the driveway. 1 from the ont and 1 wireless ba

BE63 node performance across floors without an ethernet backhaul
run a cable will always be the best option. If most of your Wi-Fi devices are upstairs, running a new cable drop to move your service to that floor is the best way to get the full benefit of your 2 Gbps service. Main router: You didn’t mention if your main router is a Deco or not. If it is, then you

Recommendations for upgrading mesh wifi
I have BE63. My home is 3k sq feet. Main router is center of home first floor hard wired. One upstairs connected through mesh and one in garage. I don’t have nearly as many devices connected as you but I can honestly say I always hitting about 800-990 speeds throughout the home and outside. My servi

I second this. I have three Decos as well, the BE63s. Wifi coverage is amazing.

Would this be a good option?
Had one of these paired with a AXE 95 router. Had lots of issues with signal stability. Ended up exchanging for a deco be63 setup. Much better coverage.
