Looking for a budget NAS for a small home project

Don't go for the DH2300 because it is an ARM processor so severely going to hamper your flexibility because most stuff doesn't work on ARM. The DXP2800 is a great option. Otherwise the newer TerraMaster F2-425 or F2-425 Plus are options depending on availability in your area. As for OS, I generally

Going with DXP2800. Advice?

Welp… Sorry guys, but after much research and re-re-re-research, I ditched my DXP2800 plans and pulled the trigger on a TerraMaster F2-425 Plus. It will be here on Saturday and I can’t wait. 😊

No regrets needed – you're in a great spot!😊The F2-425 Plus is our last new NAS for the year, packing thoughtful upgrades from the F4-424. This means you're getting the most refined hardware that is perfectly poised to take full advantage of TOS 7 the moment it drops.

UGREEN NASync DXP2800 for home media/photo server — any thoughts?

Yep, it's a good option. Also consider the newer F2-425 Plus which is based on the newer N150. There is a pretty detailed review here on NASCompares. One thing to consider is that both store their OS on an internal USB to keep the OS off the internal drives. Thus unlike Synology, you can replace the

Did putting your media on a NAS actually simplify your setup?

It did for me. I got my first NAS about 12 years ago and I used to manually download things and put them on a USB stick to watch via my DVD player. Got a Zyxxel model as my first one, switched to Synology for about 10 years before upgrading to a Terramaster F2-425 Plus model last year which will lik

TerraMaster Store Sale!

Wow, thanks for the extra 10% off code. That made the difference for me to change my recent order from Amazon of the new F2-425 Plus ($374 all in taxes, $60 coupon, etc.) to getting the F4-424 MAX ($607 all in). So with those discounts, for only $233 more, I'm upgrading from dual 5GbE to dual 10GbE

I hope I'm not going to regret just placing my order a few days ago for the F2-425 Plus. If you got something brand new coming out very soon that might be better
