2 months ago I was in your shoes and afterall I went with Terramaster F2-425 plus :) and could not be happier. If you don't like the system, you can always change it, even for xpenology. For me TOS is enough (data, jellyfin, qBittorrebt, Immich, Home Assistant)

Don't go for the DH2300 because it is an ARM processor so severely going to hamper your flexibility because most stuff doesn't work on ARM. The DXP2800 is a great option. Otherwise the newer TerraMaster F2-425 or F2-425 Plus are options depending on availability in your area. As for OS, I generally

Newbie - Debating between DXP2800 vs DS225+
I would say go with the Synology. While it is not perfect it works for all your requirements, including the part where you do not want to tinker with it.I have been using Synology for 10 years+ (DS214 and DS218+) and they have been rock stable. Did putting your media on a NAS actually simplify your setup?
