Synology bietet neben überteuerter Hardware eine sehr gute Softwareintegration. Grad für sehr kleine Unternehmen ohne große Anforderungen bekommt man da was das out of the box funktioniert und bedienbar ist. Klar geht das auch alles günstig und open source aber dann muss man entweder Ahnung haben, v

I just went though this. Bought the synology drive and then discovered it really doesn’t matter. Bought a Seagate IronWolf Pro and an aftermarket memory upgrade. Installed both just fine in a new DS225+. Get what you want. All the info out on the internet about non-Synology drives not working is out

I do need transcoding Then avoid Synology NAS for your Plex server. No current units natively support transcoding, though there is a hacker patch that makes that work on the DS225+ and DS425+. Instead, use a properly specd mini PC to run Plex and all your docker containers. You can store your media

Translation: I have bought a Synology DS225+ NAS NAS and a WD red plus 12 TB NAS HDD, when configuring it tells me that it is not compatible. Has it happened to anyone? It will happen to everyone that doesn't use Synology branded drives in the xx25 units. Where have you been for the last few months?

No. Synology deliberately removed the drivers for the DS425+ and DS225+ to save a tiny amount of money on licensing fees. The only Synology device that still has the drives is the BeeStation Plus. You can install the missing drivers with https://github.com/007revad/Transcode_for_x25 You can run it fro

Synology removed the drivers needed for transcoding, in the only 2 current models that have an iGPU: The DS425+ and DS225+. You can install the required drives with https://github.com/007revad/Transcode_for_x25 But then there's the issue of 25+ models officially only working with Synology brand drives

I've owned a Synology since 2018. I've owned a Ugreen for about a year and a half, since the Kickstarter. The ugrene does have a photo app, but I prefer immich running in a docker container. The comet above is spot on, about whether you want better hardware or mature software. If you want to build d

The DS225+ ($339) is good and would not be overkill, but I would highly recommend getting larger than 2TB drives you're considering. In fact, the price difference from 2TB to 4TB or even 6TB drives is quite small, so consider that if you want to have some space to grow. Other options to consider if

Mislim da je najbolje plug-n-play rješenje synology. Imam DS220+ I radi godinama bez greške. 3rd party diskovi nisu problem. Imam i prastari DS115 koji radi valjda već 15 godina bez gašenja... Napravio sam i vlastiti NAS od miniPC, ali to nije ni približno elegantno niti privlačno za nekoga tko se n
