Qnap TS-464 Questions
Ok, this is my crack at answering your questions. I have a TS-464 and a TVS-h1688x and love them both for the different purposes I have them for. Keep in mind that these are my experiences, but I did run them through google gemini for formatting and grammar before posting them. Question: Can the 8GB

TS-464 Starting Fresh Tips
I just started on the TS-464. So I’m a newbie. But I don’t get your post. What’s making you want to start fresh? How many drives are in it now? Just one 20 tb drive? For me, I’m started with 2 , 8TB. I finished my Time Machine backup and backup essential docs and I’m just at a bit over 1 TB used. I

Home NAS Advice
Do not make the mistake to think RAID is a backup, it is NOT https://www.raidisnotabackup.com/ Ability to use the NAS with your TV depends on what capabilities the TV\smart box has you use. My vote would be for Plex, but for Plex you should use at minimum an intel Celeron NAS, with 4 bays that would

NAS for torrent, emby, photos backup recommendation
On this subredddit you are mostly going to get enthusiasts who like building their own NAS- so TrueNAS and UGREEN. I just replaced a DS214 and my use cases are the same as yours. I initially was just going to get another synology but heard about their new HDD policy so this caused me to reflect on h

Servidor NAS

Suggestions for 4-bay NAS / Compact 4 Bay PC Case
It's hard to get a well built ready 4 bay NAS solution + 4 TB HDD for that budget in the current market pal. Good enterprise or NAS drives (like Ironwolf) will cost more than 20K but you may find drives from less known brands for around 12-15K as well but they come with their own reliability risks i

First home server
While personally this is a hard price tag to swallow, I know you wanted to buy once, without having to tinker with hardware. Anyways, if I had to do it, this is what I would do today. Start with a NAS. This is a backbone for your storage and provides large disk size and redundancy. Something like qn

Is there anything worth replacing my TS-453D with?
I have been eyeing the TS 464, because I have the same requirements: The TS-464 features the newer Intel® Celeron® N5095/N5105 quad-core 2.0 GHz (burst to 2.9 GHz) CPU with integrated UHD Graphics—an upgrade over the TS-453D’s Celeron® J4125 quad-core 2.0 GHz (burst to 2.7 GHz) processor. It also do

Ts464 or 473a
Because you mentioned both Containers and Virtualization, I will give 2 opposite answers. For Container Station I would suggest TS-464 because the CPU is at least reasonably close to the passmark score of the TS-473A CPU and the price difference is enough to in my opinion make the 464 better value.ht

Help rebuilding my QNAP
What kind of budget leeway do you have? I ask because if I were upgrading a TS-464 the first thing I would do is install a pair of M.2 sticks in the slots it has, and then when you do your grand reset do it with all the other drives removed and than set up the M.2s as a mirrored storage pool first a
