I went from ts-453b to ts-464 in one go with 4 disk raid 10. It was plug and play. But I did three things booted and logged in to Nas with zero drives installed accepted and did the firmware update. booted until it asked for drives again Only then did I then turn the Nas off and put back in I'm assu

New to a NAS - what apps should I be using for my needs

To answer your question about the apps - in theory, you can access your files remotely through QNAP native apps like Qfile Pro on mobile, etc. Suppose you want more control over your security and have enough knowledge of networking and containers. In that case, you can use services like Tailscale, w

TS-464 more than 16gig memory?

I've just updated TS-464 to 64Gb - replaced the original Transcend 2666 8Gb SODIMM module with 2x32Gb. I used Integral 64GB (2x 32GB) DDR4 RAM 3200MHz SODIMM Laptop Notebook MacBook Memory Module Kit. Here you can find the exact Specs. The procedure is relatively straightforward and took 5 minutes.

Migrating to QNAP, Single->RAID1->RAID5->RAID6?

Never heard of a TW-464 .. a TS-464 or TBS-464 ? OpenZFS does not support RAID level migration, only adding vdev's to an existing RAID group (expanding a RAID) So if you want to keep your migration path open, use QTS (here you can do the migration path as indicated, but I would not use RAID6 on a 4

Will this work for my TS 464? WD_BLACK SN850X NVMe SSD, 4 TB M.2 2280, NVMe

yes it will, but its overkill, you wont get the performance that the ads tell you its capable of because that capability only comes from a host that can drive it at PCIe 4 x 4 but the TS-464 slots are only PCIe 3 x 1. The good side of that is that with an SSD that is so obviously over specified the

unable to install the package for details see ...

I feel your pain. I had the same issue with my own TS-464. Unfortunately, I never was able to solve the issue. I rebooted the NAS. Stop the Plex service. Stop & started the Plex service. Nothing would work on a consistent basis. The only thing I can say that you can update the app... eventually. You

ASUS XG-C100C 10G Network Adapter works with TS-464 but bracket doesn't fit

Qué tal? Conseguiste algo?

Adding 10Gb SFP+ to TS-464, + 2 x NVME in raid 0.

Conseguiste algo?

Is building a custom NAS with Unraid or True NAS worth it over pre build solutions, and if yes, how to do it?

I manage about 110 QNAP’s at work. I prefer them to synology but that may also be personal preference. Synology is also basically hardware locking their NAS devices forcing folks to buy drives from them, if you do not; you lose a lot of functionality. So, might not be wise to go that direction anymo
