sensor size matters(for beginners)

I feel like apsc is the perfect balance between light capabilities and reach, ive used my xt5 for weddings and sports and also as a daily for vacations and birding, i love my lumix s5ii but i wouldnt chug it around everyday and thats why i havent sold my fuji

Why is the G9ii more expensive than the S5ii?

S5ii is Panasonics entry level full frame camera made using quite an older sensor that. The g9ii is a more niche product but also a higher end model, just that its a m4/3 which some will see as a crippled camera. I personally would take gh7 over a s5ii anyday of the week

My long-term LUMIX S1 ii review

Not sure if my opinion is of any value to you, but I'm a former S5II owner. I took advantage of Panasonic LUMIX's trade-in trade-up promotion, which provided me a $400 discount on the purchase of the new S series camera and I received ~$850 in value for my S5II (varies depending on condition, mine w

Over-processed image of the S5iix / S1ii ?

By all accounts you can get a more organic image by shooting Pro-Res and Raw formats, but these come with huge file sizes. H264 and H265 file sizes are so much more reasonable for so many workflows - and I have also noticed the difference going from an S1 / S1H to an S5II. Up-voting this because its

Lumix S5ii vs Nikon Z5ii for stills?

Generally, yes. Nikon Z5ii is better for stills and Panasonic S5ii is better for video. Nikon Z5ii has a better autofocus (same as their high-end bodies, better subject recognition and tracking) while the Panasonic S5ii has more video options (6K Open Gate for instance). Both bodies are capable of d

My first camera and I chose s5iix

Interestingly, I think the S5 ii is anything but soft as it doesn't have an OLPF. It is why a lot of people still feel the S1H is the best 4K Panasonic camera.

Problems with the S1II

I have most Panasonic cameras but also the A7CII and the Z6III. I agree with you about the video processing in H265/H264/Prores. Since the S5II the video engine is pretty bad. The A7CII is just much better. What you said about the people skin is true, when cropping inside the videos, it has smoothed

Sony seems to be like apple.

I've been waiting a long time for this subreddit because the problem is clear: Sony is playing the same game as Apple today. Incremental updates, marginal differences between models, and a clear strategy of monetizing the brand rather than its actual value. The A7V, in fact, doesn't address any of t

Why doesn't the Nikon Z6III match the Panasonic S1II dynamic range

Some people are pointing to the dual gain output in Dynamic Range Boost mode, but that’s not it. Even with that disabled, the S1II has a good stop or so on the Z6III. I’m not an expert, but I believe this comes down to two things. S1II is taking longer to read the sensor. I’ve heard the S1II uses a

Anybody switched from Fuji to LUMIX mainly photography?

I’m primarily a Fuji shooter, but I picked up a Lumix S5II earlier this year. It’s a fantastic camera, though I definitely felt the learning curve especially with the live view. The “nature live view” mode and the lag you get when using slower shutter speeds threw me off. That might just be my own i
