Beginner dad: What’s the best hybrid camera hybrid (S9 vs other options) for my situation?
I use my camera almost exclusively for family life. 10 bit video, reliable human tracking and good stabilization are the main things to look for in a hybrid dad cam. I wouldn’t recommend an OM-5 or GX9 for your use, because they both lack 2 out of the 3 things I mentioned above. I’ve owned an E-M10

VND Stops for OMLOG400
If you’re used to FF you’ll find OM cameras are more sensitive to ND range for a few reasons. You have roughly 2 stops less dynamic range at the sensor. That means more ND needed in bright conditions. You are aperture diameter limited - the fastest f1.2 autofocus lenses roughly give you the low ligh

G9 II + OM System 100-400mm f/5-6.3 II — anyone running this cross-brand combo for wildlife/dog sports?
That is so kind of you! Pleased to meet you! My wife competes in Hoopers, and our life revolves a lot around this community. She competes with our mighty Boston Terrier and currently trains its successor Lurcher (Border Collies + Whippet). I do not consider myself an expert in the field, but can con

Best MFT body for video auto focus.
If you want the best for video you go with panasonic. Get a GH7 or G9ii those things are stellar in AF and don't hunt nearly as much even in lower light. GH7 was MADE for video. If you HAVE to be hard headed and get OM spend the money on an OM1.2 but still wouldn't recommend it for video over the ot

Lumix L10 Preview (Micro Four Nerds)
Yes, it is 2 stops of difference with noise. I did say that you can crank the iso way higher. However that advantage is lost when you have to shoot at f8 to get crisp wide angle images. This single issue has me considering selling my s1rii to go back to a G9ii. I shoot a lot of indoor events and spa

From Lumix to Canon to... Lumix again?
Panasonic cameras have really good ergonomics and features. And they don't cripple any features either. Like canon. I agree the G7 is a fun little camera just wish the autofocus was better. And low light performance. Which you will get with the g9, the g9ii, and of course with full frame.

Does anyone here use the OM M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-100mm F4 IS Pro on a Lumix G9II?
The lens is mega, no matter the body or sync IS. I used it on both a G9 and E-M10 II and never found the stabilisation lacking The f4 aperture on the other hand can be a near-constant annoyance if you don't shoot exclusively in daytime or good weather. Image quality and handling are fantastic though

First camera
It depends on your budget and expectations. While the E-M5 and E-M10 Mark II are capable cameras on their own, one is 14 years old and the other uses 11-year-old technology. The sensors and much of the technology are way behind current standards, even by M43 standards. The usable ISO on these old ca

My GH6 cinema rig :D
The GH6 actually handles low light pretty well, even far better than I expected. You just have to crank your aperture wide open, and with Viltrox EF-M2 (which I use in my rig) you can get another F-stop (instead of F1.8, Sigma 18-35 becomes F1.2) + it also reduces the crop factor to 1.5x instead of
