Nikon's new ZR is $500 cheaper than the Z6iii

It’s a video camera. Sony was basically alone with the FX series and Nikon and Canon juste released their own. The ZR doesn’t have strong features for photography (might explain the price compared to a Z6), but I’m mostly surprised because it’s a lot cheaper than the FX3.

ZR sounds no brainer but…

All of these are valid concerns and ones I agree with, but Nikon specifically released this camera at $2200 to start to take this corner of the market, so you’re just not going to get everything right off the bat. This is an absurd price point for a camera of this quality, so compromises will inevit

Why the Pocket 4K needs a V2

For what it’s worth I’m a full time videographer (not cinematographer) working closely with brands such as Amazon, Uber, Honda, Tourism Australia etc. My daily is the pocket 4K, original, with the ultra speed booster for a full frame circle and I have to say the new Nikon ZR, canon R5II etc are clos

Am I trippin?

DP and colorist here. It’s honestly not to bad but a combination of two things. Poor Lighting & inexperienced coloring. Truth be told these days every Camera looks good. Regardless of raw or not. It’s about knowing the limitations of your camera and what codec you’re shooting. Along with your lighti

is there any reason to buy A7SIII since we have Nikon ZR just released?

Look up Gerald Undones video on the ZR. If you actually work with the camera the FX3/S3 is still a much better option for your workflow and ofcourse lens availability. Having internal RAW is nice but the filesizes are definitely not. ZR had some issues as well with the image quality of smaller files

Upgrade?

I have owned all 3 of the these cameras and only have the 12k still. The Nikon zr has a beautiful image but the dynamic range is by far it's weakest feature. It is not like the 12k at all. The 12k is a decent jump over the 6k. I'm very happy with my 12k but I actually miss my komodo if anything. I r

What’s so great about the ZR compared to any other Nikon mirrorless camera?

For starters, the Nikon ZR camera is not a mirrorless still photo body. It is a 6K cinema-grade camera meant to be used in a modifiable rig. It has 32 – bit float for unparalleled audio, built in 3D LUTs for crafting the look. Has an impressive number of shooting formats, and is Nikon’s first collab

From a Strictly Still-Photo Stand Point, the ZR Leaves a Lot to be Desired

So you think Nikon somehow made the sensor less sharp by putting it in a different housing? Gonna chalk this up to user error. There’s no sharpness issues on the Z6iii or ZR or the 14-24mm.

Z6iii vs z8 for stills and video?

The Z8 has more pixels and faster e-shutter for stills. It uses Nikon's pro-style bank system. It also is better at maximum dynamic range (for landscapes, for example). The Z6iii/ZR have fewer pixels and faster e-shutter for video. It uses Nikon's prosumer-style user preset system (similar to your Z
