Will price of Nikon Z5ii drop before the end of the year?

Just ordered mine. To be honest, the value proposition of the Z5 II seems too good to be true as it is, even before considering tariffs. No other brand is providing a FF camera this full-fledged at this price currently in my opinion. Even if there is miraculously a sale somehow this year, I won’t re

For all the Pros who shoot Nikon

I guess it all depends on your definition of cheap, but working with a dslr is absolutely still possible in 2026. I shoot mirrorless myself, but I love and still use my D500 as a second camera. It is a pro camera, full stop. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. It is good enough for sports, wildlife

Is the Nikon D700 enough for professional photography in 2026?

All comments about it's enough ... Gear doesn't Matter are cool ... But in reality, if you are going to work with your camera, and on the top of that you have to buy all the new lenses, don't Focus on the D700. If you want to stay with Nikon buy a Z5 II, Z6 III or Z8, your work Will be much more eas

Camera purchase advice.

The Z8 is the most insane value proposition I have seen in ~30 years of photography, and that is not hyperbole. It is a genuine flagship camera with the closest direct competition costing $7,000 USD (Sony A1 II). Even brand new, the Z8 is literally half that price. Even ignoring inflation, you could

Wide Angle Dilemma

If you really want to go FF, go for Nikon. The z5 II is a tiny beast!! But I guess you will eventually found yourself wanting to switch lenses. I would personally go with an Olympus second body and a fast prime or the zoom. Have you considered the 8-25? Is a stop slower, but concerts are not as dark

Official Gear Purchasing and Troubleshooting Question Thread! Ask /r/photography anything you want to know! January 02, 2026

Building a new camera kit — which accessories and specific products would you recommend? After about a year shooting with a Canon R5 + RF 24–70 f/2.8, I’m finally ready to buy my own camera. After watching more YouTube reviews than I’d like to admit, I’ve settled on the Nikon Z5 II paired with the Z

Old Sony Users Who Switched To Panasonic; Any Regrets?

I'm not a Sony shooter, but I have a fair amount of Panasonic/Panasonic Leica gear. I briefly had one and returned it because I didn't like their color science or their attitude. I have a couple of Nikons (Z5 II and Z8) that I love. I also have Panasonic G9 II which is a MFT camera. I really like th

Nikon d780 or z6iii?

Nikon has a helpful article comparing the Z5ii, Z6iii and D780: https://www.nikon.co.uk/en_GB/learn-and-explore/magazine/gear/the-nikon-z5ii-compared-to-the-z5-z6iii-z8-d780-and-d850 I love my D780 but the Z6iii is a far superior camera. I chose it over the Z5ii for the reasons StarbeamII gave.

Upgrade from D5500 to Z5ii or not?

At the 6 month mark, YOU are not really going to notice an appreciable difference between the D5500 and the Z5II. Save the money and keep using what you got for a while longer and make a list of all the things that the current gear is not allowing you to do or getting in your way. Then decide what i
