Factual DF54 report: repeated chute clogging with dark roast espresso
Yeah from factory DF54 worked fine only for light and medium roast coffee and for Dark Roast it was clumping pretty hard Miicoffee thankfully mailed Metal De-clumper along with a chute upgrade for the ionizer and I am not seeing this issue for the past 4months since the upgrade. One more thing to en

About to buy df54 - concerning reviews on amazon.
Love my DF54 and use a metal catch cup. I just use the bellows thoroughly for each dose and clean the shoot 1-2x a month and it’s great I do recommend 2-3 spritzes of water as RDT and haven’t had any issues. Enjoy your grinder Fwiw, I bought via MiiCoffee and they did a good job

Shots always pulling sour or bitter [Breville Bambino]
I highly recommend getting six or so small 2 oz glasses and pulling a salami shot. Chris Baca explained it well years ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2aD33p4_fJo Basically sour means shorter/darker/cooler and bitter is the opposite end of the scale and longer/lighter/warmer. A salami shot will

DF54 vs Eureka Mignon, which to buy? Budget [<£350]
I had a DF54 for about 2 months. Every week it would completely clog (using rdt and hot starting, bellows pumping…) and I would have to disassemble it. Definitely not what I wanted to do in the mornings before I had any coffee. Although it’s an entry grinder, I want a $230 grinder to function consis

Should I upgrade my machine? [$400]
I suspect the grinder is mostly the issue with consistency. And flavor. The minimum viable "adequate" grinder is roughly $250, the usual recommendations here being the Baratza ESP and MiiCoffee/Turin DF54, possibly the new Fellow Opus 2 (although definitely avoid the first one, speaking from experie

Koffiemolen

Issues with getting a fine grind [DF54]
My DF54 came with misaligned burrs and I had a similar issue to what you're describing here. There are some good videos about flat burr alignment (I found Lance Hedrick's useful, there's also one from MiiCoffee I think focused on the DF54 itself). Took some trial and error over a couple of hours but

DF54 is high maintenance
I have recently received a DF54 from mii coffee and had major clogging issues. They reached out and provided a video detailing adjusting the metal declumper (I have the V3) which I now believe I mistakenly bent outward too much without knowing what I was doing. Anyway, got the adjustment made which
