My favorites are business-class Lenovo, LG, and HP laptops. Generally in the $800-$1200 range gets me the features I need (hard drive space and RAM). Be sure to get an extra screen if you can. Having at least two displays is a must for me. I actually use three regularly. And be sure to choose one th

I am not, but my mom is, and she would fill up 256GB with stuff in a week. 8GB would most likely be fine for her though, fair. That said I dont think 600$ every 3 years is a good deal, my wife has an LG Gram that was about 1000$, and its about 5-6 years old already, and at current rate it will stay

I have a 17" laptop and it's perfect. It's an LG Gram though so it weighs about the same as an average 13" laptop. I've used this brand for years and never had an issue. I'd highly recommend it, but it's not good for gaming if you're into that. It's also quite expensive, I guess because of the mater

Hi, I've owned the 17" for a while and before that, an MSI Creator 17M (17"). I have the i7-1360P but I do regret not getting the RTX3050 GPU option for the occasional demanding work like video rendering which is very demanding. Otherwise, it's done well indeed for work similar to yours. If I were t

Honestly something like that doesn't really exist in the ThinkPad lineup. But if you are willing to look elsewhere, I am a fan of the LG gram lineup of laptops. They have a 16 and 17 inch model that is lighter than most 14 inch machines. On first impressions they may not have the solid feel of Think

I've been in tech for 40+ years, and spent 20+ years deploying laptops to users. I've owned several MBPs and MB Airs. I've built PCs and even built water-cooled and air-cooled (fanless) PCs as I was obsessed with silent operation back in the day. Heatsinks, cooling, fans, etc were a big focus of min

I am in the same boat. I am typing this from a 2020 LG Gram. Love these 17" lightweight laptops. But don't like the face unlock, because they are generally too slow for me compared to fingerprint scanner. I am not sure if LG president will care or respond to any letters we write them. But I am votin

LG Gram 17" is a great product. I've probably bought 8+ LG Grams, happy with all of them.

I've had mine (LG gram 17" 2020, 40gm Ram) for 5 years and it's the best laptop I've ever had. Only had to change the thermal cpu paste recently, as the laptop was getting a bit too warm. Otherwise, best laptop.
