I have a 17 inch LG Gram. Great screen size, still lightweight. I just don't find 12-13 inch screens big enough to be useful for anything I can't do on my phone, and having a laptop big enough for a number pad on the keyboard is important to me too as I use it extensively for the work I do.

My favorites are business-class Lenovo, LG, and HP laptops. Generally in the $800-$1200 range gets me the features I need (hard drive space and RAM). Be sure to get an extra screen if you can. Having at least two displays is a must for me. I actually use three regularly. And be sure to choose one th

I'd love a 17" macbook air. 14-15" I find too small now. I'm using an 17" LG gram, which is the weight of a Mac Book air, and the extra screen real-estate makes you much more productive if you're doing anything that's intensive with a few docked windows, side-bars, etc...

Think you have a very good Thinkpad! I got similar one last fall before RAM prices exploded. Very happy with mine. Run it on Linux without issues: except linux graphics drivers weren't the greatest, but have improved. Used to get 1-3 second blackouts, but no longer. I never hear the fan (do some lig

LG Grams with LCD panels typically have DC dimming (no PWM). I have a Gram 17 and it's been great. ☺️ You can review PWM tests at NotebookCheck.com.

Have you looked at the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14/G16? Pretty solid gaming performance in a surprisingly light package, and the screen quality is actually decent for photo work The LG Gram 17 might be worth checking out too if you can find one to test - crazy light for the screen size but gaming performa

I love my pile of classic Thinkpads that I always purchased used and worn. They never failed. Then I purchased 2 new from the official store. They died after warranty expiration. Then I bought 2 open box 17 inch LG Grams and am currently beating the crap out of them but am not going to try drinking

if you want to stick with ASUS, their slightly more premium Zenbook lineup is their slimmer option at 2.8lbs (1.27kg). their Zenbook S lineup is a sub-family that are even thinner slightly, but they are premium laptops for premium pricepoints over $1200. MacBook Airs made after 2020 are 2.8lbs (1.27
