It seems so unreasonable to carry one around all day

I have a 17 inch LG Gram. Great screen size, still lightweight. I just don't find 12-13 inch screens big enough to be useful for anything I can't do on my phone, and having a laptop big enough for a number pad on the keyboard is important to me too as I use it extensively for the work I do.

I hate myself for saying but… MacBooks kinda just feel unmatched

No experience with ASUS zephyrus, but sounds like you are comparing Windows gaming laptops to MacBook Pros. I've been using LG Grams for years - this is a 17" / 32GB - battery has been fine for me, but i mostly do developer tools and audio editing, not video editing.

I need an alternative to a MacBook

So you want a BookMac? There are some premium laptops, but they will always differ from a MacBook. Asus ProArt PX13 with Strix Halo and 128GB RAM, lightweight and premium "Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Ultra Aura Edition Gen 11", or LG Gram 17 or 18", which are the lightest big laptops. From more sanely priced

Which one would you choose and why? MacBook Pro 14 vs Thinkpad X1 Carbon

I wish Macbook Air actually challenged the limit of thinness/weight like the iPhone Air, instead of just being a mildly less overweight hunk of aluminium A 15-inch Macbook with an A-series processor, OLED screen, and the weight of an LG gram would be awesome

First time using linux, starting with Mint. Why does Linux feel slower than Windows?

My experience differs, mint feels fast and light compared to windows 11. LG Gram 17, decent specs. There has been a learning curve to be sure, but smarter people than I have been tackling the same issues so I know it will get sorted out.

Minipc or Laptop? Which is better for a home office setup?

If you are tied to your desk at home then either works but you can also get a keyboard and mouse. Otherwise laptop for sure. I have an LG Gram 17” in that fits in my smaller carrying bag, yet has the full keyboard plus number keyboard and weighs under 3 pounds. So I don’t need to attach a monitor ke

14inch vs 16inch for coding, and carrying it in my backpack daily.

Plenty of bad advice in these comments. Most backpacks will go up to 16 inches. There are plenty of good options. The LG gram 16 is one of them. Acer Swifts and HP Omnibooks are another.

Gram pro 17 2025 worth buying

I own the 16Z90TS. It's just 16" with a bit weaker specs, but besides that quite similar afaik. So, the LG Grams are the most portable 17" ultrabooks you'll find. Even looking at 16", there are only a few real competitors (Acer, Asus, MSI). I decided for LG since all of the others have glaring OLED
