New System Advice
A little outside the box, but right now Amazon has renewd Klipsch The Sevens active speakers on sale for $799.https://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-Heritage-Inspired-Powered-Speakers/dp/B0DVBMN3D4/?th=1 They're very well-reviewed and offer 100 watts per channel, a built in DAC, a sub output, and phono, dig

Turntable advice
It’s a good table. I too like automatic tables as I’ve had my Dual 1219 for over 20 years. As far as speakers go, for $1200USD (about £890) you can get Klipsch The Sevens which are fantastic speakers and have a built in phono stage. Just get stands for them and you’ve got a great setup

CD player for Klipsch The Sevens
The sevens have a phono input you can switch to “line”. If you are not using a turntable, then you can go CD player RCA to the Klipsch RCA, and that should bypass the Klipsch DAC. Second, there is 3.5 Aux input. You can get a 3.5 to dual RCA cable and connect the CD player to that. That should also

Is this any good?
It really depends on what you're willing to spend. I just picked up a new setup myself and was asking these very questions. I ended up getting a pair of Klipsch the Sevens as my powered speakers for a Fluance RT85 turntable. Those speakers are on the pricier side, but I think you can find some prett

Help a Boomer out 😂
Lots of good suggestions already. I'll throw a pair of Klipsch The Sevens active (self-powered) speakers into the mix. They stream and have an internal DAC which means they function like your current Sonos speaker. The internal amps deliver 100 watts to each speaker. They've gotten lots of great rev

First turntable advise
Do you need a phono input? For around 400 you can get Kali lp-6 v2 or mm6. Better bass extension, more output, super linear response. Other options include the Adam audio t7v, and the jbl 306p. The klipsch sevens are nice and have that phono input, but are above that price. You can go with the fives

Replacing Stereo Speakers with HomePods – What Do I Need?
From all the things I’ve read here, HomePods can be quite unreliable speakers. I keep reading about connection issues etc. Love my HomePod as a standalone smart speaker but chose to go with a good stereo setup for TV and music. Way more reliable and if you have Apple TV you basically get a lot of th

Setup Under $1000
1000 can get you the Kali IN-8 on sale right now, you won't beat that. Look at the kali mm6 too. Klipsch Sevens or nines. Jbl 306p, Adam t7v, kali, or the powered klipsch. IN-8 being the best, but all very good. Only the klipsch has a phono input, so the others would require a phono preamp or turnta
