ELAC DBR62 + Wiim Amp OR Klipsh The Sevens

Why would a streamer DAC amplifier last longer than powered speakers? I guess it is less costly to replace a Wiim than powered speakers. Anything with an app needing set up on a mobile phone isn't going to last as long as passive and active speakers do. If you consider ever going into surround sound

New System Advice

A little outside the box, but right now Amazon has renewd Klipsch The Sevens active speakers on sale for $799.https://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-Heritage-Inspired-Powered-Speakers/dp/B0DVBMN3D4/?th=1 They're very well-reviewed and offer 100 watts per channel, a built in DAC, a sub output, and phono, dig

Turntable advice

It’s a good table. I too like automatic tables as I’ve had my Dual 1219 for over 20 years. As far as speakers go, for $1200USD (about £890) you can get Klipsch The Sevens which are fantastic speakers and have a built in phono stage. Just get stands for them and you’ve got a great setup

Is this any good?

It really depends on what you're willing to spend. I just picked up a new setup myself and was asking these very questions. I ended up getting a pair of Klipsch the Sevens as my powered speakers for a Fluance RT85 turntable. Those speakers are on the pricier side, but I think you can find some prett

Help a Boomer out 😂

Lots of good suggestions already. I'll throw a pair of Klipsch The Sevens active (self-powered) speakers into the mix. They stream and have an internal DAC which means they function like your current Sonos speaker. The internal amps deliver 100 watts to each speaker. They've gotten lots of great rev

Setup Upgraden

New system 3.0 / 3.1 / 2.1

A pair of Klipsch The Sevens or The Nines and a sub. You’re done. Audiophile? No. What you’re looking for? Yes.

Small living room: LS50 Wireless II vs LSX II w/sub

That's all super helpful and makes a lot of sense. I want to stay with active speakers for simplicity. When I say loud, I don't mean eardrum shattering. :) I think I've been dragged down a bit of an audiophile rabbit hole when I started researching speakers. I know this is a KEF subreddit, but I won

Accidently purchased both Klipsch The Sevens and The Nines, and need help deciding which to keep and which to return.

It’ll be subjective in terms of which sound signature you prefer. Unless a speaker’s response is broken at the design level, it distorts or your room / placement is a nightmarescape you need to treat or move around, there’s not a whole lot of objectivism in Speaker A over Speaker B unless you want a
