Visual proof of PEM
Yeah this is such an amazing tool. My vivosmart 5 broke and I replaced it with an Apple Watch thinking it could surely do the same but it can’t and I miss this feature so much. This post might just convince me to get a garmin again.

To those who have improved significantly, what helped the most?
Sure! I see it as a helpful addition to other pacing. It just helps you stay within your energy envelope by warning you when you're crossing the anaerobic threshold, because that's where our bodies struggle the most to produce energy. People who have had a 2 Day CPET know their threshold, but the re

Garmin watch for HR
I am using a Vivosmart 5. Data is good enough for my purpose. Readability may be an issue on the ride.

Tracker gift for a nurse - what device?
If you want a tracker that actually works for a nurse, long battery life, easy to clean, and solid vitals tracking, skip rings and most gimmicky bands. I’m using panther eclipse and it’s been great, it feels premium, has real-world battery life that actually lasts, and doesn’t lock you behind a subs

How to not make ME/CFS worse?
Realllly varies depending on price point... Im running a garmin fenix 7 pro solar mainly cause it has a good quality fda approved ecg... those are NOT economical. Ive never owned one but Samsung fit 3 looks like it would do an ok job for the 50-70 dollar price point. And in the sweet spot a Garmin V

Perimenopause - what tracker
As someone also in perimenopause, I would recommend not a tracker but hormone therapy. My local doctor refused to prescribe it, so I signed up with the online provider Midi, specializing in menopause. Hormone medication made a huge difference in my quality of life. I would not recommend any particul

Should I still invest in Fitbit or is it a dead brand?
I used to be a daily Fitbit user, but once Google gutted the entire platform I left. I use a high performance Coros now. However, a family member wanted a basic step and sleep tracker - my recommendation for them was the Garmin Vivosmart line, with just the free Garmin tier.

Garmin or Visble?
Garmin Vivosmart 5 works well for me as long I ignore the stress reading and average out the impact it has on algorithms- because no matter what I do, the stress reading is high for me. The RHR, 24-he GR graph, body battery, and breathing rate all give me a good understanding of where my body is. I

heliostrap (and armband) experiences after 6 months
I’ve had mine for literally just a few hours and was actually surprised at how many steps I already had counted - will keep monitoring. I gave up on a garmin Vivosmart 5 because of inaccurate sleep tracking, uncomfortable band, and it hardly ever auto tracking my walks. Steps overall seemed maybe ev

Minimalist fitness trackers?
For minimalist running watches try Coros Pace 3 or Garmin Forerunner 55 !! Both are way smaller than Apple Watch, have solid GPS/pace tracking, sync to Strava, and no subscription needed. Coros is lighter and cheaper but Garmin has better app ecosystem. Polar Pacer is another option if you want some
